Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support AutomaticWasher.org:

Could you run one of these off of a dryer outlet if you changed out the receptacle?

A NEMA L6-30 looks like a twist lock connector..

I bet one of these would cost about as much as a new economy car...

Aaaaaack!!!

I guess you would really have to be a dedicated enthusiast to be able to put aside enough money to buy one of these puppies.

I wonder what the rated lifecycle of these machines are...

They look beautiful.....

miele

this washer cost a bout 3000-5000 dollars in norway or 30000 nok depending on heating and draining etc it is built to last 20 years and her miele gives 10 years warranty .

Expensive, but you're right - sort of in the same league as the Little Giants (only bigger.) The electrical requirements could be a big lift, though - aren't they 2 x 240v or something like that? But at least they have a drain pump model washer so you don't have to jackhammer up your concrete floor to install a drain trench!!

Both machines...

require 240VAC single phase. Not a difficult issue.

The Little Giants will require a transformer for the dryer to step the voltage down to 208VAC. An additional $200. expense.

Still researching the Octo machines. They seem like a perfect fit for me.

Dealer

Went down to the dealership yesterday to crunch some numbers. Seems the pricing detailed above was a little low. The Octo set would work out to around 12K in the end. Further, Miele is hesitant to sell the Octo set to residential customers because the child safety features were not built into it.

On another note, Miele Professional did point me to exactly the transformer they would use to configure the Little Giant dryer to operate on 240VAC. And it is less than $200. So now I am back to looking at the Little Giant set. Need to do some homework on how much involved an additional 240 drop to the laundry room would require.

There must be a support group for people like me. Oh wait, its aw.org!

Are the Little Giant capacities any bigger than the W3033 and its companion dryer? I.e. are the drum dimensions larger or are they rated for heavier loads due to beefier components?

Boil wash capability would be nice, I admit...

Capacity

I am not sure that the drum size is any larger than the 3033 machine, but the PW6065 is rated a full kilo larger.

Wow, good luck if you do. Now that's is what I call dedication!!

Your laundry room is going to be the envy of the entire forum! :)

You'll have to take some video of this thing in action, as well as the lights when this thing kicks into spin. :)

Will these be in addition to your existing Imperials or replacing them?

Waivering

Well, my desire to own the Little Giant machines is waivering a bit. They woould be in addition to the Imperials for the time being.

Still not 100% giving up, but the bottom line is, 9K is a LOT-O-DOH.

Side Note

I did learn that my local reseller has a brand new set of 4842 in crates in his warehouse. Plus, he has his floor model set on stands for sale at 2900.

Little Giants

I have a Canadian Little Giant (PW6065) and it's wired for 240v single phase not 208v. According to my source, it is optionally available in 3phase but it isn't too common.
