hi all

after wanting one for 13 years (since i was 6 years old) i finally managed to get my hands on a Miele Professional PW6065

the odd thing was that this machine is an OS model. i live in the UK so it running on a 50hz supply isn't an issue as Miele's are able to run on either 50 or 60hz

when i disconnected the machines 440V to 220V transformer it came to life after i had been misdiagnosing the display issue this machine had due to the low voltage the transformer was outputting as a capacitor issue

when I finally did manage to get the machine powered on here's what greeted me

this machine typically has a relatively wide range of programmes with variable temperatures on each one

i have no variable temperature or spin speed. and i have 12 programmes all with their spin speeds and temperatures locked

this machine also doesn't have a "supervisor level" in the settings either, just very basic things you would find on normal machines

upon further research i later found that i could change this in programming mode, which is activated by pressing the start button 5 times after the door is closed.

there is yet another problem i didn't expect

this machine will not let me access programming mode to change it's settings. even when it's NTC temperature sensor has been disconnected

so instead of calling their rather incompetent engineers over the phone just to be told i need a visit or a new board of some kind that won't fix the problem, i'm asking here for any help i can get with this very unusual issue with the machine's programming

this is a very confusing thing and i've never had a Miele be this difficult to access before

PS. some have told me it is locked into a "launderette mode" that i can deactivate in programming mode, but as listed above, i cannot get it to work

This is all one has got, other than this cannot help.

Supervisor mode can be "locked" requiring a code to enter.

See "Commissioning Washer" page 7-8.

There usually is a way in most situations to reset or over ride set codes; after all people do forget and so forth. However nothing have found speaks to how to go about doing so. Obviously Miele techs or perhaps CSR will know, but whether will divulge such information without a call out I don't know.

Am sure one of our members from your side of pond will chime in sooner or later.

Thank you launderess

Although the machine is typically locked by a code, in this instance the supervisor level doesn’t even exist at all in the settings

Its an incredibly strange issue that I have personally never seen before on any PW

I hope to get it resolved without an engineer call out as it’s incredibly expensive and a new main board would probably be the cheaper option to go for

Wait, I told a lie.

Have got this:

2.6 Operator code programmable function

Option code not required (domestic use):

Domestic programmable functions are freely available.

Supervisor programmable functions are not accessible.

Option code required (supervisor):

Access to domestic and supervisor programmable functions via code entry.

The code is freely selectable. If the code is no longer known to the supervisor,
then it can be reset to 000 by resetting all programmable functions to the standard
settings.

Update

The issue was found to be me being a moron. I had no idea where the connector was for the temperature sensor on the main board of this thing, so I ended up taking the front panel off and disconnected the connector from the NTC itself. It gave me access to programming mode and I now have supervisor access and all the cycles I wanted along with more options too :)
