Hi all,
I am excited to post here for the first time as a laundry enthusiast who has been perusing the threads for some time now. I was wondering if I could receive your expert opinions and personal experiences regarding the Miele Rotary Iron, both the B 890 and the 990 models.
I have happened upon some great fortune the other day as I found someone selling a B 890 model on Facebook Marketplace for a good price and the seller states that it is in excellent condition. I then discovered the Miele B 990 and although I do enjoy the look of the old model, I really love the look of the 990 as well (I think this is due to the marketing pictures on Williams Sonoma's website LOL...) and I have also found someone who is selling the B 990 model (although without the feed board, which I would need to purchase..) for around the same price as the B 890.
I was wondering if anyone recommends the 890 over the 990 or vice versa? My first instinct is to go for the older model, based upon the belief, that older technology, especially home appliances, were better built and more durable than their successors. So perhaps the 890 does a better job of ironing linens? However, the 990, as far as I can tell, can also be considered old and has not been updated for quite some time. I was also wondering if anyone knows if the 990 has any features that make it better than the 890? Thanks a lot and have a great day !!!
