I found this Miele S558 (in Mystic Gray color--not the red in the photo) vacuum with Power Head on craigslist. The owner said that it had been used for a year and then put into storage, which may be true as it looks little used.
The electric power head works, but the mechanism that releases the handle from an upright position to a working position is not right. I took it to a Miele vacuum dealer and he said that there is a broken part inside, and that he could fix it, but wouldn't I rather have a new one, which he could sell me for $200.
Do any of you know of an online source for directions on how to do this?
The vacuum is also missing the upholstery brush, the crevice tool, and the part that replaces the Hepa filter to make the vacuum a blower. Are there sources for these parts that are used?
I know there is a site devoted to vacuums. Is it called Vacuumland?
Thank you,
George
