Miele UltraWhite

I ordered a box of UltraWhite and the only dosing instructions are the attached picture.

I have a Miele W1 with an 8 kg capacity. Generally my loads of white / light clothes are 6-8 kg.

What dosing guide should I use?

Does the box have a scoop inside? (Haven’t opened it yet.).

If there is no scoop, anyone know the measurement equivalents in mL?

IIRC my box of Miele UltraWhite came with a scoop.

I'd start with 1/4 cup or maybe bit less depending upon soil/stain levels. One rarely goes above that and have great results.

As have stated previously European detergents are usually dosed based upon local water conditions. Parts of Europe have water so mineral laden it makes hardest water in USA seem soft in comparison.

Have used UltraWhite for 10+ years. Found that 20- 30cc or about 1/4- 1/3 scoop is my average dose, never above 1/2. Cool thing about this stuff is that it rinses really well in our very soft mountain water, even when overdosed. I use the same dose in the W1 and the PW6065.

Water hardness plays a big part and detergent and additive usage, laundress is in New York, where the water is very soft for example

It’s always important for anybody talking about what they use in their dishwashers and washers to mention your local water hardness. It’s also helpful to mention the temperature you supply hot water to your appliances with Makes a huge difference.

I also

use 1/4-1/3 scoop of Miele Ultra White powder on a average use. never had to use more than that.
I have and also use all the other Miele Powders, with the same dosage. Never a problem.

Thank you. I should have mentioned that being a scientist and all.

Our water here is very hard. (16 - 18 gr/gal)

I’m currently using Tide with Bleach (1/4 cup) with 1 tbsp STPP per full load of white / light clothes. I’ll use 1/8 cup of Tide with 1 tbsp of STPP for a smaller load. I supply the Miele with Tap Cold and let it heat to the desired Wash temperature. Generally, I use 75C or 60C washes for white / light clothes and things come out beautifully.

This thread is making me Miele-curious! I seem to be in detergent experimentation mode, so think I’ll order a box of the Ultra White. It seems to get high marks from all who use it. I’m especially drawn to the “clean rinsing” raves.

The water in my area is 24 grains per gallon, so many—including me—have water softeners. Being able to have a softener is one of the reasons I chose this apartment building. The landlord mentioned he’d like to put in a softener for the entire building, but the way this place is designed, there is no room for one. As it is, the softener I purchased for my apt is wedged between two laundry sets on the lower level.

When I lived in Ann Arbor our water was around 12 gr. Used 1/3 scoop for most loads still and bumped it up to 1/2 scoop for heavily soiled stuff, but was washing in a Bosch Nexxt then. If that helps.
This detergent responds well to high temp profile washes. I regularly do 95C washes in the Little Giant, there is only slight increase in suds level as the temp increases and still rinses cleanly.
