Hi. I created a document containing cycle times for every cycle. There are two tabs; one that has Estimated times, and another that has Detailed times that include wash, rinse, and spin times. I created this because this info is not provided by the manufacturer, and I feel it could be helpful for deciding what cycle to select.

I realize that the majority of people will not be interested in such details...the ones that just select Normal and walk away. But I am posting this for the few of us who crave such details.

WOW!!!!

I hope this link gets alot of response and info on other machines. I remember years ago cycle information, time and water usage was included in the manuals that came with every washer and dishwasher that I was aware of. Frustrating that my new LG Washer and dishwasher have nothing of the kind in the manuals.

Thanks for this chart. I have this model and agree that these seem to be the cycle times. I'm not sure how to like this, but thanks for making the chart. I do find that these starting estimates get reduced by your load size which is a good thing since I usually use the Baby Clothes program for many cotton loads instead of Normal since Baby Clothes keeps the heater cycling on and off until the last 10 or so minutes of the wash. So far I have never loaded enough items in the drum to get it to stay at 1:56. I have added options like a prewash that increased the time, but even then the estimate gets reduced somewhat after the load size is determined.

Thanks Jerrod_Six.
If you check out the Detailed Tab, I included the Actual Time I got when running the cycle empty, so you can see what a minimum time/starting point would be. Check out the green Comments section for how I arrived at these times. The chart also prints nice from a computer. I realized it is hard to view from a Mobile Device.

Thanks for your detailed information. The cycle times on the US machines are much shorter than their European counterparts.

Thats a lot of effort that went into that. I was wondering though what the actual times would look like with Warm or Hot water, 40/60degC?

20Deg is tap coldish or lukewarm.

On my aussie older generation W1 series, the wash times significantly change based on temp. IE it takes longer to do a cycle at 40deg rather than 60deg, because the machine accommodates the longer wash time needed for the same performance in cooler water.

Do the actuals change up and down for you based on the temp?

No part of these results were provided by Miele. This was done by my observation only.
All tests were completed with an empty drum.
Incoming water temperature was room temperature (76*F) for both Hot and Cold Fill AND Cold Fill only.
All temps used were the coldest the cycle allows to give an estimate of the minimum cycle time. Choosing Extra Options, a warmer wash temp, a larger load size, or different water pressure may result in longer Wash/Cycle times. (Wrinkle-Free, Normal, and Dress Shirts are slightly longer when Cold wash temp is selected.)
All times referenced are for the Normal Soil option. Light Soil may result in shorter Wash/Cycle times. Heavy Soil may result in longer Wash/Cycle times.
When using a H+C Intake, cycles were shorter than when using Cold Intake only, even when no heating occurred in the cycle. (Verified by PowerMeter) [this post was last edited: 11/8/2021-01:06]

I have my machine plugged into a Kill-o-watt-meter, so I can see when the heater is engaged. My machine is in an unheated laundry room in my basement so in the winter it can get into the mid 60'sF. I usually do not run hot water to the machine before I start it so the heating is all on the washer. For the normal program, the heater runs for the first 13 minutes and then turns off and never comes back on for the rest of the program. One time I ran the normal cycle at 104F(warm+) and did run the hot water to the machine and this time the heater never turned on at all.

For the rest of the cycles, the heater turns on at the beginning of the wash and cycles on and off throughout the wash but will turn off about 13 minutes before the end of the wash. For the Extra white program at 160F, the heater will hold until the temperature is reached and then continue to cycle until the last 15 minutes or so of the wash.

I think this behavior may depend on the temperature of your incoming water and the environment the machine is running in. So... I prefer to use another cycle for cottons instead of using Normal so that I can know I will have heat applied when necessary. Even wrinkle-free uses the heater through most of the wash especially if you are doing a 50C or higher wash.

One other thing; anytime the recirculation spray turns on the heater will turn off. It will come back on when the spray period finishes. This might be due to the fact that the water has to be taken out of the heated environment and pumped back into it so as fast as the water is being pumped, why add heat while that is going on - I don't know.

Hey Nathan. The cycle times all go up the more the heater is engaged (with the small exception of 20C having slightly longer times for Normal, Wrinkle-Free, and Dress Shirts).
