Miele w1065 timer?

Hello all, this is my first post on the forum and I was hoping for help to resolve an ongoing issue with my Miele w1065. The timer isn't advancing through the cycles and will hang on just about every function. It will even sometimes fail to begin agitation at the beginning. It never finishes agitating once it starts however and it requires someone to manually advance it through the rinses and into the spin cycle until ultimately the load is complete. I have looked around inside and checked for any loose connections and then ordered a used timer from Ebay which arrived and the machine does the same issues with a little less trouble to begin agitation. My head says it's the timer in both cases but if anyone can think of anything else I could check that would be much appreciated.

Miele 1065

Most definitely dodgy timer motor, sometimes when you turn the programmer it turns the sub interval camm as well which sometimes makes the machine agitate, but then it wont stop until you turn it again, sometimes I come across these timers, will keep a look out.

I have a second timer which I could use for parts, any idea as to whether its possible to swap out the timer motors?
