To answer your question, the plastic parts don't feel as substantial as older models, the detergent draw doesn't feel quite as robust but it's still better than other manufacturers machines. As for the rest of the machine I can't see any major differences in quality. There are marked improvements in the wash action and rinse times. My Miele W1613 took ages to rinse, in fact it spent more time rinsing than washing, this is not the case now. My new machine spends less than a third of the cycle time rinsing.
Henene4, on paper the Miele drum is smaller than on the 12Kg Beko I had. Miele 65litre drum, Beko 71 litre drum, however, I was told by someone who works for Miele that Beko include the door boot as drum capacity where as Miele only measure the drum itself. In reality, I can get more in the drum of the Miele. I actually quite like the new buttons, I really like the touch screen for scrolling through the options and changing stuff in the settings menu.

richnz, I'm not actually missing the orange button, the orange highlight on the door kinda makes up for it.
