The pictures of the colored mini-baskets were cool.

Didn't GE make a mini-basket that had holes all through it instead of just at the top?

I could be wrong; but it seems to me they did.

Dan

Yes, GE made a special version of the MiniBasket for the Spotscrubber models. It only had the holes at the top, nothing in the bottom like the other models. There was also a special version of the filter for the Spotscrubber models.....

Learn something everyday

Hey Jimmy,

I did not know that. It is interesting to watch the mini baskets fill and agitate. I would like to see the spot scrubber in action. What type of agitator did the spot scrubber basket fit on?

Thanks,

Mike

Two cents

What's so special about that filter besides the inscription (although I'll always love that color)?

Also, prove me wrong but I think all GE mini-baskets had small holes in the bottom to faciliate the recirculation of water. IIRC the Hotpoint Duo-Load basket had no holes to keep water separate from main washbasket.

The SpotsScrubber filter is DEEPER in depth than the usual filter. The Spotsscrubber MiniBaskets were indeed solid minibaskets with only holes in the top.......

No Holes

Here is a photo of the Minibasket from My Spotscrubber Washer.
There are no holes since there is a timed solenoid that stops the recirculation of water on a specific cycle that holds a super concentrated mixture of water and detergent in the basket for washing out stains. The minibasket fills only about 1/3 of the way with water then the recirculation stops.
The wash part of this cycle is in excess of 20 min.

Funny. Same part number and mine is different. I have the original filterflo and a replacement still in the bag for my Spotscrubber machine. Both just say filterflo on them and not spotscrubber.

Thanks for posting the pics of the MiniBasket Bill, I only have the filter and not the basket. Ive never had a SpotsScrubber washer yet, but have found several bad ones in the parts yard in PA. Id love to see yours in operation sometime.....Jimmy

Our V-12 had the first design of the Mini-basket. It was very small, had round holes around the sides near the top and smaller holes in the bottom. Even though the instructions said not to, I found that it worked very well on the 1-6 lb setting with clothes in the main basket. We had a couple of delicate things in the Mini-Basket.

Cool!

i had no idea about the Spotscrubber mini basket - now how do they stop the recirculating water without turning off the pump which was usually an integral part of the whole system? Now I want a spotscrubber! This is cool!

More pics please!! and what year was that Dispensall from?

Matthew

I use the filter-flo baskets as food holders for dry cat food. I have way too many of them laying around. Pretty good 2nd life to such a cool inovation.

My Mini Basket

I bought this thing on Ebay a few years back At the time I didnt realize it was exclusive to the spotscubber Model But It looks like what Jimmy has described it ONLY has holes on the top Take a look.....

Super Filter Flo

It appears the only thing "Different" is the size of the filter pan itself. I cant imagine needing a bigger pan lol despite the dirtiest laundry ive ever seen ive NEVER filled a standard Filter Flo pan

get on with the motion

my mom and my aunt both had these ge washers in avacodo green no less. My aunts had the mini basket which she never used. I have always wanted to see it in operation. Any of you guys care to post a vid and make a dream come true?

We had top of the line 1966 GE with mini basket and matching dryer. They were avocado green to match the Brady Bunch refrigerator we had. I can remember my Mother using the mini basket to wash her panty hose in. She also use to use Salvo tabs that she would but in the lint filer at the start of each load.

So that one up there in post # 243538 -- presumably, in order to drain, it has to throw the water at the beginning of the spin cycle. It doesn't appear to have a retainer ring. How did it keep the clothes from going overboard and into the main tub?
