I found this mint Osterizer Blender at the estate sales today, but what was so unusual about this is ... (next post down please)

was it also came with a metal jar, I've never seen this before. Maybe for making Root Beer Floats??? All three pieces were $2 which I thought was outrageous, but they wouldn't come down to a $1. Oh well.

Very cool! These are wonderful blenders. They've offered a metal container for many years, hard telling if the owner bought it separately or if at some point they sold them as a set. The ones they made for bar/commercial use always had metal containers.

Darn Scott, here I was hoping you would say, OMG that's the rare metal container, it's legendary! LOL. Thanks for the info.

Laundress what time should I pick you up at the airport for Root Beer Floats? Or would you prefer that I just Zap you here.

Very deluxe...That metal jar is one of the early models, they later switched to a round milk shake maker styles on the commercials. The SS jars have always been available thru mail order just that no one ever seemed to order one for home use.

Robert - that's a beautiful find. I have a newer (2000) Osterizer Beehive blender with the heavy glass jar...fantastic blenders...and so stylish. And it weighs a ton.

too close to the sink~

I hope you checked it for ground faults~ Don't touch the sink and the blendor at the same time anyway just to be on the safe side~. Just kidding (but not really)..hehehe.

Sure is a beauty. Lovely photo with the glistening light.
The price was a total giveaway.

Are the blades any different between the two bowls?

Bob

Yes Bob there is no electrical leakage, I check it by taking it into the tub with me :)

Anyway, the blades are exactly the same between the two containers.

Nothing to laugh at but...

Osterizers have been known to give you a good ZAP if the base gets wet when blending...
Make sure you are extra careful in the tub Robert!

Robert,
In all my years of collecting, in the time I worked at a Sunbeam authorized repair shop, I never saw, nor did I ever know there was a square, stainless beaker for the Oster blender. I checked with Al, who was the store mamanger and he said he had heard of them, but had never seen one. They may be washing up on the beach in California, but I was gob smacked to learn it even existed.

Perfect now that's want I wanted to hear! LOL. Thank you Kelly you are a sweatheart.

Congratulations, what a beautiful vintage Oster, and that metal jar is fab! Definitely enhances the Deco look if you ask me.

And $2 was an absolute steal! I paid more for a much later (70's) Osterizer Imperial in Omaha...
