As some of you know I had a Miele dishwasher (G45, just like the one in the Miele Museum). As I was unable to hook it up in my kitchen because it was too wide I sold it to a member of the German club. He was looking for this same model and arranged shipment. I'm glad it has a new home now and it...

Thanks for posting your old thread Louis, I had the notion that you had had one of these at one time.
Anyhow, It was me that snapped it up, now contemplating how I am going to get it into the back of the car seeing its 27" wide .......
Peter, if you are with shouting distance of the East Midlands you are welcome to come over and have a look at it once I get it home, it will be joining several later models

Miele Dishwasher
This dishwasher appeared in the October 1965 Hhich report so Louis date is more or less correct. I wonder if that device on the side of the machine on report is a water softener (fortunately my water at home is soft already) - the machine I have just bought does not appear to have the same fitting.

That's indeed a water softener. When I got my G45 it came with one. It was still filled with salt. I must have posted more pictures, but can't find the thread with those. So I searched and found the pictures I took back then when it was in my shed. Here they are.

I am curious about the plug as I have never seen one like that before, can you tell us a bit more about that please - I presume the flat pin is the ground.

The plug in the picture is a Perilex plug. It's meant for appliances on a three phase connection. The flat pin in the middle is the ground pin indeed. If it's horizontal, it's meant for 16 Amps, if it's vertical it's for 25 Amps.

Well I finally picked up the dishwasher this morning. Communications with the seller have been difficult to say the least of it, so I was wondering what the collection would be like. Actually it was far better than I had expected, the sellers were quite friendly and the machine was quite easily disconnected from the services. I was fully expecting copper piping to be plumbed right onto the machine but with a little help the Bendix style tap turned shut off the water and the waste hose removed from the stand pipe.
There was a second Bendix tap which I presume was for a washing machine, there was a hose connected to it but it had been cut off. It looked like the sink unit had been installed in the 1970s, therefore about 10 years after they would have had the machine. There was a Bosch WFF2001 or similar on the other side of the sink, that was not up for sale, at least not at this point
I have not been able to run the machine yet, but it seemed in reasonable condition, I think it had been used rather more than they said, but it was still in pretty good nick - the drain hose had been replaced with a modern corrugated one at some point. There was no water softener, but I do not need one where i now live anyway.
I cannot remember is this has one wash are or two - I forgot to look LOLOL

The seller mentioned that they had an old dryer which did not work - unspecified what was wrong. Given that there is not much that can actually go wrong with a dryer I decided to speculate £10 for this, presumably 1970s, AEG model. Hopefully it can be made to work again. It was just a shame that the front has been cleaned sop vigorously that the pin striping has been worn off. This was clearly a substantial machine

Being in the US though, my curiosity has been piqued about these connectors.
Would the voltage on those be 240/416?
I had not previously heard of three phase current in a residential setting. How delightfully convenient!

Congratulations on a Miele from a time quality meant heavy! If there is only a little rust on the surface of the interior, try running a cycle with a tablespoon of citric acid. I never used mine, so can't tell anything about the sequence of a cycle.
You'll have to fix that AEG dryer. I had a similar Zanker dryer, it was hot! Great for drying towels!

Actually it was easier to move than expected, wheels on the back were a big help. There is no washarm under the upper rack, just the one pictured plus another arm in the roof of the wash chamber
