I took my vehicle to the repair shop this morming, and told them that the engine was missing. I then rode the bus to work, and shortly after arriving at the office, the mechanic called me and said that they had found the engine after a quick search under the hood! ARRRGH!! I had to explain to them that the engine was MISFIRING!!

Missing Engine....

HMMmmmm

Your mechanic may have been trying to make a bit of a joke at your expense... Obviously something powered the car to the service station. Rather than find a new mechanic, Perhaps you should re-evaluate the one you have... He obviously has a sense of humor ( I Think ) - or maybe is just a stickler for exact details / descriptions / nomenclature / etc. If he has sufficient intelligence to make such minor distinctions in speech - - it's unlikely that he is a stupid person - and may be a really good service person that you may want to keep.

Just my 2 cents worth....

yep, he was just joking with me! He's a good guy that's been working on the family's cars for as long as I've been around and knows me pretty good! His main motive to call me was just to find out when I noticed the problem the worst...and he just had to pull my leg ;)

Engine - or it's absence....

Bravo!
For both of you ! He for knowing a customer well enough to be able to poke a little fun, and You for recognizing it for exactly what it was. a Win-win Situation.

We do need a good bit more of this these days.
