Mobile-Maid in Colorado Springs

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

Not a fan of the racking system, though.

Read how one is supposed to load the thing in my Hotpoint service manual and it seems a large bother especially compared to the later lift up and out racks.

Going through the archives this model seems to be from the bridge between impeller and wash arm/tower. While it has the latter and the "Power Shower" don't see a rinse aid "Rinse Glo" dispenser or mention (could be wrong as the pics aren't that clear/close up).

Still it might prove to be interesting.

Again, Hmmmmmm.

Oh go on and bid on it.... You KNOW you want it, Launderess!   Racking of dishes with this generation of Mobile Maid is not as bad as you think - loaded correctly, you can get tons of dishes in one.

In beautiful shape

This is like our second MM. The racks hold an incredible amount of dishware, especially plates, more than you can fit into the GE wash arm machines, and this machine really cleans well, not like some of the wash arm models. It not only pumps out all of the water, but each pump out period, except after the last rinse, ends with about a 4 second activation of the fill valve to flush out whatever might be left behind. We did not have to remove the top rack to load anything that normally went in the dishwasher, not even the 6 qt Revere Ware Dutch Oven. We did take the top rack out when we loaded the cooking rack from the 22" charcoal grill for cleaning.

This machine could not have been used very much because there is no sign of rust under the Plastisol around the Power Shower water receptor in the lid. We were always amazed at how quiet this machine was when loaded really full of plates which tended to direct the water up to the lid instead of letting it hit the walls of the tank.

That's a nice little machine

I was interested in this model too, but it looks like it doesn't have a rinse-aid dispenser and, even worse, for me, it doesn't have the accessory side cups racks that I've been looking for. Laundress is right; this is a "missing link" model from 1962, designed most probably to use up parts. It's an impeller model that has the blue/white Plastisol of the new generation of built-ins. It's the portable version of the SU-102 with a Power-Shower.

The machine I'm still searching for is the SP-50 Mobile Maid with all those ritzy features including a butcher-block top(it's the pink one below). An Italian member here did a post a while back with an Italian Mobile Maid that has everything. I'll post a picture of it(it's the blue/white one below). It has a weird Calrod unit on the bottom of the tank.

Paul is right. Loading these machines is a lot easier than it looks and they actually hold more dishware than later models.

It's clean, that's the best part.  You can make it work.  It's more difficult to make a hunk of junk pretty.

When I Want Adventure I'l Ride the NYC Subway System

At today's shipping prices we must have more. *LOL*

I see what you all are trying to do; land me with the thing then if it doesn't work happily offer to take it off one's hands once it is on the East coast.

*LOL*

One Hour Left For The Bid & Someone Is Going For It!

So far biding is up to $7. Hope it is a member and that they win.

Was interested but shipping/crating quotes to NYC were just too dear (> $300). After my horrible experience with HomeDirectUSA have learned sometimes it is best no to low ball these long distance finds.
