The refrigerator in the school was like the one my neighbor Edith had. They got it when they built the house in 1951.

GM usually went all out for their promo films, using a top professional cast. Lots of "the face is familiar, but can't recall the name" actors. Wish I could think of who plays Grandma, as I remember that actress in old movies and TV shows. The school board member in the hat was also in lots of shows. Some well known performers go their start in these industrial films.

I thought the actress playing grandma was May Robson but she died in 1942. The school principal/superintendent/physics teacher is E.G. Marshall. I don't recognize the woman in the hat with the daisy's on it. [this post was last edited: 9/16/2017-21:22]

I did find that it was made in 1952. Also discovered that Frigidaire sponsered "Grandma Goes to Town", promoting their electric ranges. Katherine Emmet played Grandma Rockwell. She was in a few TV shows in the early 50's, but was a veteran of silent movies during the teens. Also appeared in "Night Angel", a 1931 Paramount production starring Fredric March and Nancy Carroll.
