Modern Ironing "1955" General Hospital Laundry

This was state of the art equiptment in '55 oh so modern.
Sheets are thrown on the spreader in the front then machine spreads the sheet and the 2 flatwork girls then feed it into the ironer. Operated at approx 10 sheets per min. a bit less if not extracted well as ironer had to be slowed down.

These machines are too cool - imagine standing in these sweltering rooms all day long and then going home to slave over your own wringer washer!
