We had this exact model; used it with the '86 White-Westy, and yes, it was WCI-made. My grandmother still has the Westinghouse version of this machine (only more TOL). Lasted 13 years until 1996 when the drum bearings suddenly went out. Made a horrible grinding noise even though we greased them over & over again. My dad is the type of person (cheap?) that would rather "jury-rig" a 13+ year old appliance than buy a new one (and yes, in case you are wondering, he did this with our Hotpoint DW), and tried to fix it unsuccessfully. The washer was about ready to give up the ghost as well, so in the end we replaced it with the plastic GEs...
I thought the "Start" switch was neat to push compared with today's dryers. How did this work?
