I thought that machine looked like a 24-incher and was wondering where the "mini" designation came from. I guess I need to have something else in the shot to provide scale.

I contacted the seller thinking I might go pick this up for the Natester, but she just responded saying she it's been sold.

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions about a member having grabbed it. Los Angeles is a big place. Perhaps someone there has been waiting for a 3/4 size dishwasher to come along due to space issues they might have.
Whenever an 18" portable shows up at our Restore it's gone within the day. Seems they're very sought after. Regular sized portables seldom last much longer either.

How well did these units perform and are there still parts out there in case of repair?
Yes, have noticed portable and or other 18" dishwashers go for good money, even if used. Though the item above looks in pretty good condition.
With the increase of single or perhaps two person households an 18" unit will often suffice better than a full sized dishwasher. Suppose for the odd occasions such as major entertaining or doing vast amounts of cooking/baking at once the extra capacity of a full sized unit would be missed, but there are ways around that problem.

The design screams GM-Frigidaire, but the build quality looks pretty poor. That's nice to find one in such minty shape.
The pumps on these look kind of fragile to me, compared to their full-sized SuperSurge counterparts. Either machine is kind of fragile with the Plastisol-coated interior, but boy howdy, that is a pretty one.

Ralph and I were twins separated at birth--he should have grown up in our religiously Sears-equipped household, and I was meant to sashay through Wards.
Good thing this got snapped up before I could show it to David. He has some raging penchant for the 18" portables that I do not understand.
I agree that there is a big market for these--portables, and especially compact portables commanded a premium price in the Bay Area, where many places lack dishwashers and have even less space to store one on the side.
