If there is a Grocery Outlet Bargain Market near you, go check it out. I found a BUNCH of Cascade with bleach action that has a 6.4% phosphate content. $3.99 for a 5 lb. box.
More Cascade with phosphates found.

Correct. At the Grocery Outlet near me, they had two sizes. One was $2.99 and the other $3.49. I bought a few boxes of the larger size a couple of weeks ago to add to my stash.
They've had this stuff for a couple of months at least. They must have bought tons of it to still have so much of it on the shelves.

I bought out the 6 boxes they had at my local Grocery Outlet. I stopped at BIG LOTS today and they had DOZENS of boxes on the shelf. It was $6 per box but I still bought 15!

$6 per box? Grocery Outlet offers a much better deal. Check it out if there's one convenient to you.

My nearest Grocery Outlet has run out of your standard sized boxes of phosphated Cascade.
Now they have a huge supply of 11-lb. boxes for $6.99 each.

And the other day in Target I saw a bunch of Cascade complete gel packs with 7.0% phosphate. We picked up a few.
We have noticed that even though some of our stocked up stores of Cascade has turned hard, it still works well in the DW and dissolves completely.

You people are SO lucky!
No matter where, including Big Lots (at least the closest two to me) every place has been out of Cascade with phosphate for a very long time.
Fortunately, I have one unopened box of powder, one opened box of packs, and and unopened box of packs.
I also have some European Finish tablets, and a few precious Somat 9 tablets, but in my water which is hard on the edge of soft, when I use the European tablets, I have to run extra rinses to get rid of the suds. Even so, they clean VERY well, but my water is just not hard enough (!)

Sorry to hear that Maytagbear! Just check all of the discount stores around you that you can to see if there's any out there. So far that's where I've had my luck as you can see. I hope you find some! Although there is the option of getting some STPP to add to your detergent, that way you'll have it for the laundry too.

Lawrence, do you have a Marc's near you? They are a discount grocery chain based in Cleveland. We have two stores here in Columbus.
At my local Marc's, they have at least eight cartons of vintage Cascade Action Pacs, and a few boxes of vintage Cascade powder at the back of the shelves.
The merchandise mix is always changing, but it wouldn't surprise me if the vintage Cascade is available chain-wide.

I shop at Marc's in Stow or Ravenna at least twice a month, and last time I looked at the Stow store, the phosphated Cascade was quite gone.

You might want to try GFS as the stores around here had plenty in stock when I was there a couple weeks ago. It is the institutional formula with 7% phosphates and chlorine bleach, and smells like the original Cascade. I see they have a location in Tallmadge, which should be convenient for you.

They quoted some lady who said she has compensated by buying TrisodiumPhosphate (TSP) and adding it to the detergent. Now I recall that TSP is not the right chemical for laundry, it should be TrisodiumPolyPhosphate (TSPP). Is the same thing true for dishwashing?

But the woman probably either didn't know the difference, or has been informed of where to find STPP.
So many local news programs are featuring spots on how *bad* results are with the new phosphate free dishwasher detergents.
Things mignt not be so bad if modern dishwashers used more than one cup of water per wash cycle, and or had several really hot washes.

Says on the side contains no more than 6.9 percent phosphorus in the from of phosphates.

Suppose in areas of high humidity you will need some sort of "controlled" storage area. Maybe a small refrigerator set not too cold?
Another idea is to use some sort of really good vacuum sealing device, and enclosed the boxes each in plastic with much of the air removed.

You can buy STPP from the Chemistry Store.
STPP comes packaged in 5 or 25 Lb buckets. Very little is used. I use 1/2 tsp per dishwasher load. The amount used per load varies with water hardness.
What we do is we have two containers. One container is the bucket the STPP arrived in and the second is a small sealing bowl. We fill the smaller bowl from the bucket and use that. It prevents having to open the original bucket more than once or twice per year. Moisture is not good for STPP.

I found Cascade at Grocery Outlet, for $3.49 for a 4.68lb box. It was harder then a rock though, and I think the enzymes in it were beyond dead. 6.4 Precent Phosphate though.
Technically, only 5.9, as .5% is added in there figure as "trace amounts" from the fillers used.
Lowes still has Cascade Action Pacs, with Dawn, 8.5% for like $4.

Have Used Powdered Laundry Detergents That Were Hardened
Which seem to work fine however wouldn't chance it with automatic dishwasher products.
Am working through my stash of phosphate Cascade powders and hopefully will finish before the contents turn into building materials.
