Cool GE Range
Jason restored this same range and it is living at the warehouse-museum, it is a really neat range. I usually keep this one connected and have done some light cooking and baking with it, the only thing that would keep me from making it a daily driver is the non-self-cleaning- ovens and the poor insulation that GE ovens had before SCOs.
It was interesting when GE brought out their SCOs almost 50 years ago my brother and thought that they will burn out a lot of bake elements because the cleaning cycle heats to almost 900 degrees F., but in actuall pratice you will replace bake elements in the above range at least three times as often as the early GE SCOs, the oven doors were just too thin on GEs NSCOs.
