Good morning everyone! I wanted to share some more vintage items. What I have here is a Roto Broil electric skillet and am Oster Super Pan. The skillet was new in box when I got it. Both items work great and I use each of them often!

Hmmm.

So Roto-Broil apparently realized that using the top of their rotisserie oven as a cooking surface presented serious limitations.

I've seen Roto-Broil deep fryers out there as well.

I've never seen an Oster Super Pan.  Maybe they're from Oster's Sunbeam period, as I think I've seen similar looking things with the Sunbeam badge on them.

I also need to post a picture of the Roto Broil deep fryer/cooker I have.

I wondered about the top cooking surface of those rotisserie ovens. I don't think I'm going to try it!

Just for the novelty factor, I've used the top surface of my Roto-Broil for heating up whatever contents in a saucepan, but that's about it.  You have to raise the top cover when roasting anyway, so the hot surface is there for the using.

Also, that surface temperature varies with the roaster's temp setting, which means you get what you get.  Even on High setting you couldn't seriously boil water for pasta up there, but for things that only need to be heated through, it's fine.

I would not attempt the level of cooking pictured in the product literature, that's for sure.

The instruction manuals that come with those old appliances are really interesting to me. They usually show all sorts of uses for them such as cooking hamburgers and hotdogs on the top surface or something like that. I'll share a picture of the manual that came with my rotisserie very soon.

I've seen a few of those Oster Super Pans for sale on ebay. They look like they'd be fun to use. I love to cook off of the stove. Clean up is so much easier, especially if you have a gas range with star burners and cast iron grates.

maybe Oster still has a few of these buttons available

Oster Super Pan

That's a neat looking frying pan and I , too, have never seen one of these. Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Oh, and Jay Ward's Hoppity Hooper was one of the lesser popular cartoons that I liked…"The Traffic Zone", being one of my favorite episodes. No Oster Super Pan, but the characters would look good on that pan.
