After clearing the 6" of snow (we were lucky!) time to get back to work on it!. Installed the new belts, motor, pump,(have to glue the nipple back on the cover) top and front panels. The timer does not seem to advance, though it just might need thawed out! Soon it will be ready for laundry with its 1960 dryer mate!

It looks like the same mech and drum that the 27" models of the late 60's & 70's. Is it actually a larger capacity tub or is it the same? I thought that the slant front models were a larger drum than the 27" models.

59-63 Slant Front WH Washers

Had the same tub capacity as the later 3 Belt washers that were made through 1988, biggest differences were the 27" models had 4 friction snubber assemblies instead of the better hydrolic shocks the the 59-63s had.

 

The earlier slanted tub models were no larger in capacity either and they sure did not clean as well either.
