Most Common Washers

Now with the "Rarest" thread going, let's throw in some opinions about the most common vintage washers. Here's what I think:

1. Baby Bendix FL
2. Whirlpool/Kenmore Belt-Drive
3. For Combos: Bendix/Philco-Bendix Duomatic

The Unimatic machine I've seen the most (quantity in collections as well as on eBay) is the WO-65/WO-65-2, so I consider it the most common, IMHO.

Anything else?

here in st louis the pickins are kind of slim. the only vintage machines i see are at estate sales. i still see alot of maytags from the 60s. dont buy them cause i dont need them. then every once in a while i will run across a 60s kenmore. but odd enough i have found 5 frigidaires. a 54washer and dryer, a 65, a 66, and a 1-18 that i had to pass on for lack of borrowing a truck. and of course when i need to find one for parts they are no where to be found. and you never see anything behind an appliance store that is more than 20 years old. the rarest set for me were the westys.

Maytag 606,or a Kenmore 70 series.I usually see at least 1 of each,whenever I pick up a load of trade ins.

I'm with Jason on this one......

The most common automatic washers available in the 50's through 70's in my opinion were:

(01). Maytag
(02). General Electric (or GE for short)
(03). Whirlpool/Sears Kenmore
(04). Frigidaire

Let me see,the ones i have seen the most were:

GE/Hotpoint
much more Kenmores than whirlpool's
Maytag
Norge or Norge made washers

Of all these it is about a tie between GE and Kenmore

According to the washers, dryers and dishwashers I have taken in for recycling since I have been keepin track (about 2 years) is:
Washers
Kenmore 34%
Whirlpool 25%
Maytag 19%
GE 8%
Hotpoint 3%

Dryers
Kenmore 35%
Whirlpool 27%
GE 15%
Maytag 9%

Dishwashers
Whirlpool 29%
Kenmore 27%
Roper 13%
Frigidaire 7%
Kitchen Aid 7%
GE 5%

The dishwashers might be a bit skewed on the Frigidaire and Roper persentages since I recently recycled a bunch from an apartment complex, many of them Frigidaire and Roper.
