Hi guys I'm after some advise, I've got to pickup a servis twin tub about 40 mins away from where I live. I was going to lay it on it's back in my estate/station wagon. will this be ok or will oil leak form the transmition? I've moved countless front loaders before but never anything like this. It is one of my dream machines and I don't want cause any damage, but it would be so much easier to be able to put it in the back of my car. what are peoples thoughts.

is that the one in Swindon? I was going to bid on that as a friend of mine in Bristol is after a replacement for his ancient Hotpoint but the bidding went up to £170.00 so way out of his league. Good luck with it!

Hi Rich, it should be ok, to lay down for up to a couple of hours, but wouldn't really do any longer. I have had quite a few of these machines over the years, is it the mk2 version, with the 3 controls down the front ? (Kate Rowan machine from Heartbeat)
They are really sturdy machines and go on for ever, can be a bit of a nightmare to work if the top needs to come off, as trying to get the top back on usually involves two people, one to sit on the machine and the other to tighten the brackets !!
If you need any information or help let me know.
Cheers
Keith

Hi guys thanks for the response.

Hoovermatic, Yes it is the one from Swindon. I managed to get it for £180.00, more than I realy wanted to pay but it was so close and I've been after one for a long time. I shall be eating beans on toast for the next few months to pay for it lol

Keith, thanks so much for the info. It's a 108 supertwin not a mk2, my Nan had a mk2 given to her in the mid 70's I was quite young. She didn't have it for very long as it broke down and she went back to washing by hand and her Creda spin dryer. If you would like a chat my emaul is [email protected]. Hopefully hear from you soon.

Frontaloadotmy, Thanks for the wisdom lol. I don't know anyone with a lorry, I would of had to rent one.

Thanks Rich
