Musical What? Frequently-Swapped-Out-Appliances

In light of the recent threads lately, particularly regarding people's ranges, I'm interested in knowing if anyone plays "Musical Appliances" in their house - i.e. Swapping ranges, dishwashers, washers, dryers etc in and out of Daily use...

 

Myself - Well, aside from bringing a smaller 2010 Cyclic-Defrost refrigerator online (particularly in Winter, when its cold out, and quite cheap to run), we don't swap much out. 

I do have several computers that serve their purpose though, a Windows 98 box, Powerful machine with Windows 7, Macbook and HP-Compaq tablet...

Oh my,  never mind 'if' I play 'Musical Appliances' ask hubby... He calls it 'Musical Bloody Appliances'.... LOL 

 

The exception is the GE Wonder Kitchen and wall refrigerator - they stay put.  But, I like to have a second portable dishwasher in the kitchen, too, so I alternate between a crew of GE Mobile Maids, a couple of KitchenAids, and a Whirlpool.  Now that I think about it, I  have never tried the mint 1971 Westinghouse convertible in the kitchen...  Next project for me!!

 

In the laundry room, I just did a swap and re-org of 4 washers and 3 dryers.  I now have a 'room divider' row of machines for a quick swap; several of the other machines had to go off-site for the summer, alas. 

 

And don't get me going on small appliances...  I have a turquoise group of appliances for the counter and yes, I do use them, but I will suddenly have this urge to make a cake using a Dormeyer 3200 or Hamilton Beach model 'E', so I grab one from the collection in the garage.  Next most-swapped would be coffeemakers;  I alternate between them quite often.  Current fave is the Sunbeam C30 vacuum pot, but I've also been using the Jet-O-Matic perk too.

I used to w/ Audio and Stereo Equipment... --Back when I had a LOT of it, speakers and all!

I have

TONS of smalls...Mixers, blenders, waffle irons, toasters etc..so I rotate them fairly often.

Do this with small appliances.Not enough room to do it with the few washers I have.A freind of mine that came to visit---says"You need a castle!!With all these things you have""Lets see Blender corner!,Washer world,Vacuumville!"And the man says "You need LOTS of shelves!!"Agree but no time.The fellow that visted-he collects radios and old TV's.

In our house the perpetual appliance swapping is limited to vacuum cleaners.. a canister for bare wood, steam vac for the tile, upright vac for the carpets, three car & portable vacs for different purposes etc. They could easily fill a closet and we're not even collectors.

Vacuum cleaners, percolators and electric skillets... in that order.
