Bran smell...

I see that in my country house... mice are been attracted from anything smell of bran or any cereal like it, corn for example!

And any "dry fruit"...almods, nuts, peanuts... they feel the smell of them...:-D

Try to take everything like what I mentioned away from them...

Then CATS are the best solution!

Glenn, It probably is going to turn cold and they are seeking a warm home. They heard that you were cute and friendly but did not know that you were not mouse friendly; oops, wrong address. You might want to do a perimeter check for their entry point.

Early one fall, I unknowingly brought a bromeliad in with a little frog in it. He started chirping so I fixed him up an aquarium holding tank, got him safely transferred then bought him some crickets to build up his strength. After a day or two in the warmth of the house so that he could digest his meals, I figured he needed a place to hibernate. Because I live quite a ways from a creek (I still wonder how he got to my deck), I took him to the one in our park and let him go so that he could find a place to spend the winter.

Hungry frogs are frightening. If they were larger than we are, there would be no people. He snatched those crickets to where you could see their bodies poking against his belly. They must have strong digestive juices to process all of that.

Tom, that's true about frogs. I've read they are *voracious*. I wonder if turtles would eat mice? I've got three turtles camped out in the ditch since summer. Course, they make a burrow and disappear when the weather dries or turns cold.

Mouse in the wall -- that's why I don't use poison. If mousie gonna be in the wall, I'd rather it be alive and well. If it's gonna be dead, it better be on a trap where I can see it.

A friend instructed me to use the sticky traps, then use veggie oil to loosen the critter and set it "out in the field where it's supposed to live." Uhhhh, no.

Bob, could be, I don't recall. The first incident in this round was a couple weeks before the October wash-in, so maybe that's what you're remembering. I was anxious to catch the perp before houseguests arrived. Human houseguests, that is.

Many years ago, I lived in North Little Rock in one of my parent's rentals. The place behind me was really nasty, people would come and go at all hours. About every three months one set would leave and another would move in. It would stir up the mice and I would get infested.

I bought 12 mouse traps and set them around the house. As soon as the lights went out, I heard, snap, snap, snap. In the morning ALL TWELVE were full. It took a week like that before they settled down for another few months.

Mice-Got lots of 'em at the transmitter site where I work at Mice love these places.Lots of humans and warm places.-sometimes they get to close to HV parts in the tranmitters-BLAM-FLASH-no more mousey!At home had one brazen little guy that would run out and snatch any Cheerios I spilled onto the floor.I had peanut butter(homemade at that-fresh!)in my mousetraps and they turned up their noses at it.so I put some Cheerios on the mousetrap trigger--and SNAP-while I was eating-and the lone Cheerio rolled out from behind the Hi-Fi speaker where I set the trap-the Mice liked that area.After eating-sure enought one nailed mouse.At present have several stray cats that live in mine and the neighbors bushes.They even had kittens-so more mouths to feed-as a result-no more mice in my house-and those cats have narrowed the squirrel population too!Welcomed those kitties!I watched one of them just about nail a squirrel.
