My 1968 Toro Power Handle w/ SnowHound

I figured some here might be interested in seeing my Vintage Toro SnowHound in action. I don't think many better snow-blowers have been made, this combines light weight, maneuverability, and power all in one package.

By the way, this has to be the 100th time I forgot the fuel valve before starting it, hence why it stalled and was hard to restart. Today I remembered all the steps and the machine started in two pulls, one w/ the choke to prime, the second to start. I tore apart and rebuilt the carburetor this fall. It will readily handle 1-1.5' snow because of the drift-breaker over top of the single-stage auger.

Interesting machine. It reminds me of my old Troy Bilt Horse roto tiller from the days when they were real troybilts. It also had numerous attachments available including a snow blade, not a blower thoug that I'm aware of, a generator and a log splitter. It's still working too, out at my sisters farm now.

I would, but my other half actually enjoys shoveling. Of course I help.
I could hibernate until April. I never left the house the day we had that 9 inches last week. Now we have light rain, and 40 degree's F.

That's a great snow-blower! I have three of them, two john deere from the 1970s and one MTD from 1979, was told my grandpa bought the MTD during the blizzard of '79 here, he went to Farm n Fleet and bought the biggest one they had, its 33" wide and 24" high, its a beast going through deep snow, they are all two stage as well.
