Well the small appliance gods shone on me this morning or you could say tormented me.   After the gym this morning I dropped in at our decrepit downtown flea market. Decrepit is being nice,  you feel like you need a shower after leaving.. Anyways lo and behold this seller with table and floor loads of junk everywhere had this Thermomix piled on top of more junk, sort of like my basement LOL.  I asked him how much and he asked if I wanted to try it first, I said how much regardless so he says $10.  So I picked it up to take over to an outlet and find the cord plug is gone, just the wires... So I said $5 and he took it so I took it.. Unfortunately it's a 240v machine ,  big groan.   LOL   can't win em all I guess.   actually not even sure the thing would work but can't see why not.

Unfortunately I don't.. I'll scour the ads and see if there's a cheap transformer out there, min 2000 watts,, hopefully I'll find a used one..  Thing is.. I don't really want to use it if I have to have an ugly transformer as well sitting on the counter  LOL

Even if it's 240 volts, it certainly is quite a deal! My sister paid close to $1500 for hers (she bought it at a store in Montreal for her husband who used it in Brazil
As these sell for even more in Brazil). I have friends who also got the latest generation Thermomix for about the same price and they really like it!
At this price, just run 240 volts to your kitchen and you'll be able to start an european appliance collection! Is it a 50 HZ model?

Congrats for such a nice find! I hope you can fix the missing plug and power issues, I have a more recent Thermomix model and I can assure you it's a very useful kitchen tool: it's great for puddings and sauces, cooks risotto very well and is also great for steaming vegetables and most kinds of meat... try making mashed potatoes according to its recipe: you'll be delighted. No matter how dirty it is after use, it gets perfectly clean in the dishwasher, you'll find lots of recipes on the net and I think you should also be able to find its user's manual for download on the Vorwerk website. Check eBay for the missing accessories (the small cap to be put on the lid, basket, "butterfly" insert for whipping and making puddings, spatula and Varoma set) and recipe books: you'll be able to get everything without spending too much money.
