Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

I believe you're referring to the forward tub brace. The bolt you see at the top of the brace passes through the outer tub from the inside. It has a molded rubber gasket under its head to seal the hole, and if that gasket has cracked or deformed somehow then you could easily see a leak there.

Way back in 2009, Drew did a detailed write up of a tub bearing replacement that clearly shows what these bolts look like and how they go in. It's worth a look. Here's a link.

If you mean the leveling leg...

If it's a newer model with the bleach funnel on the left rather than a bleach dispenser on the right, it could also be the hose that attaches to it that simply disconnected from it.  These hoses tend to get hard with time and when the outer tub moves during the spin cycle, the hose can either disconnect from it or break. If it's just disconnected from the funnel, it wouldn't leak much (unless you put some bleach there!).

Have you removed the front panel to locate the leak?

philr..

i was thinking the same thing. cuz that was the story with my A208. i didn't even know that the bleach dispenser hose was unconnected. and when i first got my washer, i had it outside on the driveway & gave it a good wipe down and rinsing everywhere that i could. and i also poured water down the bleach dispenser in the left front corner of the washer.

days later, when i decided to take the front panel off of the washer did i notice that the thin bleach hose was disconnected from the little funnel. the good thing is that it was an easy fix, the thin hose was still soft & supple & just slipped back onto the funnel port.

so, i was thinking the same thing, but i didn't want to sound dumb if maytagmike was talking about something totally different, the tub brace, inside the washer cabinet. so, i didn't say anything. but since i see that philr was thinking along the same line as me, i decided to "chime in".

i hope your's is an easy fix maytagmike!!!
fingers crossed for you.

GOOD LUCK...........
