My damned Bauknecht dishwasher

Wednesday I bought my first real digicam ... I'm more excited than if i got a new washer )
So now here you are some pics of the GSF 4872 SW i talked about many times

Looks like a high end Bauknecht dishwasher. Lots of cycles. Do you find it hard to load?

I notice you have a Braun K1000 too! I used mine last weekend to make a carrot cake.

Hi favorit

Looks like an interesting machine you've got there. Have never seen a triple wash arm in a European DW - how old is this one? I am particularly interested in the self-cleaning microfilter. Does it really work? Could you please, when you have time, get a close-up shot of it. Is this DW a good cleaner and does it move a lot of water? I am not too fussed with the configuration of your baskets, but you obviously have stacking them down to a fine art.

Hi Favorit. I found the exact machine near the trash bin several years ago. It shown traces of bad repairs at the aquastop system (it was disabled). After the needed repairs I gave it to my aunt and she enjoyed it for many years. She then changed the kitchen and got a Miele. The Bauknecht went to a friend who still enjoys it! It washes quite well and it is not too noisy.In my opinion not a bad machine at all!

We had the

the MOL of that Bauknecht serie. It laste 8 years. The problem was that the tub leaked water on the computerboard and that fried every 2 years... so out with the bauknecht, in with the miele...

Louis - it's not so hard, the two cutlery baskets can move on the front row for dessert plates, it's also possible to put one of them in the upper rack. Anyway the Oeko-Favorit is faster to load and washes better. Not to mention that the AEG filter is INDEED self-cleaning, unlike this spinning crap
K100-This Braun has survived ten years of my sister and nieces (ab)use. She uses it nearly daily and they often help her making cakes and cookies ........

Rapunzel - we bought this machine in 1997, Bauknecht has never been very common in Italy as BSH, AEG and Miele. Previously we had a very nice Philips ADG 666 (sold also as Bauknecht GSF 1162, IGNIS ADG 666 and Sangiorgio Theorema 786)
If Ignis---> Skoda , Philips--->WW then we though Bauknecht--->Audi ...
BUT after some months the board went crazy : F3 fault code (heating issues) the machine stopped and drained, so we had to restart it now and then. The whirlengineer in our town wasn't able to fix this problem. Then we took it to my sister's. One day the filling valve went out of order and another whirlman was able to fix both valve and board...

Tomorrow I' take some pics to the filter/spray arm out of the tub. It's a very silent machine, more than a fridge (except for the drain, but this is not the machine but the pipes)
The reason is said : it has a 80 W wash pump and uses 4 litres per fill.
With the same amount of water the AEG works better because of the hi-low speed pattern of the pump.
The older philips (5.5 litres per fill) had a device on the pump to detect any lack of water (i.e. suds when washing flour/milk/egg or after the rinse aid release) and added more water to have always the proper pressure. This "Audi" doesn't have it ... maybe whirlpool pressed format C: on philips know-how ...anyway i can notice this lack it when downloading glasses :-((

No bearing : it floats on the water and it's kept in place by the holder (up centre)
Water arriving from the pump enters from bottom (here left), flows through the strainer and exits all around the shaft in the shaft/arm holder (up centre )

obviously the spin filter can be opened (left side / base) to be cleaned. this bauknecht is fairly quick 75 mins normal programs 45 min quick and gentle 85 mins intensive

Next one is my sister REX-Zanussi. Louder, slower (105 mins), cheap plastics, but it washes pots and pans much better than our glorious miele G507. The upper rack in lower position can hold two rows of dinner plates (24 items), but it's hard to load with bowls and food processors, due to the non-foldable shelves and to the stupid useless WRD (prewash detergent dispenser) in the centre
