Why I collect Vintage Dishwashers. I know I'm nuts but they don't question on Christmas Eve. I cook that now and it has turned into a big deal. I was raised catholic so I took the no meat on Christmas eve (when I was a child) to all seafood. lots of dishes. Well it becomes a family affair when dinner is over as they like to load the dishwashers and run them (all part of the fun). This is part of what is taking this year to get ready for the fun. 3 dishwashers full to wash only dish and glass ware to get ready. I am using my GE RA949 1955 GE Mobile Maid, and my 1960 Lady Kenmore.
Anyone else having to do this.

I was thinking the same thing. Especially the first photo. I had to study it a while before I realized exactly what it was. I first thought it was an abstract very close-up photo of Christmas ornaments but I couldn't make out what the center was. DUH!

John,
There’s nothing wrong with you for having more than one d/w. I was just thinking the other day that it would be nice to have two d/w. One for tableware and another for cookware and other miscellaneous items. Surely your family can see the advantage in that, especially since those items often require different cleaning cycles. It’s practical and much more sensible than collecting something stupid, like Beanny Babies.

Those are beautiful machines and beautiful dishes - thanks for sharing pics.   I've had family raise eyebrows at the collection a few times but when they see how easy clean up is after a big meal or a holiday baking party, all doubts are washed away.

Sunday, we used the KDS-14 for the final wash of the 6 cookie sheets, 2 trays and 3 racks after we spent the day baking and candy-making. (don't look Bob ;-)

yeah, there are ones who don't get our insight to these machines, or having multiples...UNTIL, events happen, and they see the convenience of having so many options...

simple things like having several beaters and bowls for the mixer, and making batches of stuff, a simple swap out, and your work continues....

or pulling out a specialty vacuum to clean up a spill.....

actually everyone who walks in my basement is impressed with the Neptune line-up...when the quick logic hits that a lot of laundry can be done in a hurry...suddenly they want an extra set or two for their homes...

also, when they need help/advice for an appliance repair or purchase, who do they turn to?

I remember a visit from my family in the 1980s and they had to admit that having the KDS18 for the prep and serving pieces and the KDS14 for the tableware made sense. I think that was before I got the first Frigidaire wall oven so the Farber Turbo Oven was sitting on top of the RadarRange on top of the 14. I made a pound cake in the Turbo Oven and my mother the home economist had a great time watching it bake.
