I was at my sisters this weekend and she was throwing out this Mix Master that I had given her a few years back. I told her I would take the poor baby back. Though in the preceding years she had lost the beaters. I also picked up a few other items while I was there.

Gateway Drug !

My Partner Anthony said that this is the beginning, and I will end up in rehab at Betty Ford's clinic. I would not mind spending the winters in Ranch o Mirage !
This is my first so I will have Greg over to be my birthing coach, since Anthony wants nothing to do with the child. He suggested on the way home that we leave it at a rest stop on I80. She was in the back of the truck so thankfully she was not able to hear him. Maybe on day he will grow to accept her as is own. LOL

So very cool

Congrats Bob. I'm glad you were able to get it. You will definitely have fun with this machine. 1-18's are very versatile washers and hold large loads. I'd love to be able to play with all those buttons.

Enjoy your new family member!

1-18

I have quite a variety of 70's machines, and the 1-18 is the BEST. Economic use of water for wash and rinse, then a fantastic long spray rinse through that ring of spray. It offsets the economic use water for agitation, but clears out all suds perfectly. I found a fabric softener dispenser on Ebay, but the bleach dispenser is hard to find.

After 3 years of collecting, I still have more machines to find for sure, but the 1-18 was searched for longingly and is a great prize.

LEt us know how she runs, I've received great advice from folks here on my restoration.

Comic Quest for the Holy Grail

Sister's Mixmaster (Yeah!),...Gateway drug,...birthing process,....leaving it on the highway....accept it as his own...etc. SO FUNNY!

So glad you saved it. In your aerial shot of the tub "No rust!" it looks like you have a brand new washing machine. Edz told me that he did laundry every two weeks, just a few loads. So you have a low mileage beauty on your hands. You'll have her forever.

Like Patrick, how I'd love to be pressing all those buttons.

Good Luck, Bob, and thanks for a happy ending to a near-tragedy.

Congratulations on your new acquisition! I wish I could have it shipped here but it did cost a bit too much... Ed did sell me his fabric softener dispenser. I haven't received it yet but I hope I'll get it soon!
