I was browsing the antique shops today in search of some Pyrex or some nice glassware when I spotted this. I looked at it for a while, thought about it then decided not to get it. I left the store and went to a couple others, and I couldn't get this ash tray off my mind. Something kept telling me if I didn't get it now, I would regret it. So I bought it. $27.06 total. I don't ever plan on using it, so don't worry. The shop owner dated it back to the 50's possibly the 60's. There is no name of the maker or any inscription on it at all. I love the color and it's pretty heavy. I'm going to start collecting the ruby glassware along with cobalt blue and the emerald green. I've always loved that glassware.

At first I thought it looked like Anchor Hocking because of the color.
I don't remember this shape in Anchor.
I think it looks more like "Viking Glass". They called this color Epic Ruby - I think. They also had lot's of round shaped glass such as yours. I would say the time period would be early 60's.
