My first Norge!!!! Well, sorta...

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

You will enjoy the Monkey Norge. I have the Magic Chef version of this machine or as I call her, Chef Norge. It really swishes the clothes around and the burpalator is fun to watch and listen to. I love the big bang clang when the tub brake releases and it goes into spin.

Wow

Nice set. My cousins had the washer, minus the detergent dispenser. It sure was a workhorse! There were 13 people in that huse. The washer did at least 4 loads a day for almost 13 years without interuption. Good luck with the set!

Norges!!

Get a bad rap for not being dependable...first there were not as many of them sold as say Maytags,so naturally there aren't as many left, second,Maytags and Frigidaires were generally a higher priced product, sold in better stores, this usually means they were taken better care of,and lastly, the only real weak spot was the brake, and if you dont open the machine until it stops, the brake never gives any trouble,as far as tranny problems, they are as heavy or heavier built than anything, all around,I still say they wash better than anything, not as gentle, but for dirty greasy clothes, ill take one anyday!!

As usual, thanks for all the information and the good wishes. I want to use this machine as my daily driver, but I'm afraid that I wouldn't be able to get parts for it if anything broke. I'm still trying to figure out how to set the machine to advance to the extra rinse, but it may be that there is none (bonehead design).

I've taken some video clips of the machine running and I'll upload them as soon as I remember how. Also, I'll take some more pictures of the dryer(which is really why I bought the set) as soon as I can get it set up. I just discovered that the dryer did have the gas association decal on the control panel. When I went downstairs to get something from the basement I noticed the outline of it from light reflecting off of the panel from an angle. Have already drawn it and am attempting to print it on an Avery label. I really need to get a life.
Does anyone out there have a black burpolator that would fit this machine?

Now Ken, there are plenty of those things around. I know of someone right here who has a great "donor" to get rid of if you are interested. Just let me know as he does not have internet capability and I will pass along the message.
