Great pictures Charles. Mikes place looks like toyland for adults doesn't it right down to the Dating Game carpet. It has everything I love, starburst clocks, payphones, stereos and a dog who co-incidentally looks very much like my old Parker here. I couldn't help noticing also that in the first pictures of the white GE washer & dryer how the control panel resembles the control panel and tuner dial on my GE tabletop radio that I posted about earlier today on a different thread here. Cue the theramin LOL

Wash-in

Good day Charles,

I am glad you had a nice time. At the next one we will be sure to save something to demo in the mini-wash baskets.

Thank you for taking to post all the pictures and for the compliments.

Mike

Looks like alot of fun!!

and I have to agree with you Charles, those Lady Kenmores are absolutely gorgeous!!

Yay for both Clubs!

Oh what fun pictures Charlie, thank you so much for sharing. I just love the fact that the washer boys are getting to experience the fun and thrill of vintage vacuums and the vacuum boys are getting to experience the fun and excitement of vintage washers.

Fun Wash-In

Hi Charles, glad you where able to experience a great wash-in, nothing like it , same with the vacs, once you are there, you are hooked, those Lady Kenmores did it for me in 2001....Glad to see the Hoover 825 being put through its paces with Rich...AND WoW doesnt that colour go with mikes room, almost made for it, I doubt you will be letting that one go though!!

Scott, you really look like you have settled in your new life, looking all tanned etc, and Hi Mathew, nice to put a face to your screen persona...

Alan, how many air miles do you have this year???

Mike your house looks wonderful, love the neons, I missed them first time around getting to the people pics etc. Those matching sets are the best, now we need to see that mini basket in action..

Cheers, Mike

It was sort of the mini-basket that swayed me to buy my GE back in 89. Thought it was really neat but I was somewhat hesitant about buying anything GE anymore, their quality was heading south and was also bolstered by the fact that the RR I worked for had purchased new GE locomotives and were having tons of problems with them at the time. Well I took a leap of faith and haven't regretted it. Nothing has ever gone wrong with it in near 18 years. Can't say I use the mini-basket much but it's there LOL

Wonderful pics Mike, looks like you all had a great time. So pleased to see all the machines rebuilt and hooked up and running. What good is it to have all that stuff if you cant use it and enjoy it, right? Your washer room looks great and eager to have another wash in when I visit LA in January!

Wow! What a fantastic time you all must have had! Love the machines, thanks for sharing. I worked in a church that had that identical model KM dryer with the electronic sensor. I never knew what the matching washer looked like. It sure is a beauty, as are the GE's. Let's hear it for wash-ins!

Awesome Studio

Wow, that is a dream house, thanks for sharing with us. Love the Filter Flo's, the Lady set, and that range.. add to that the California Special Mustang, just perfect!

It looks like a great time was had by all!

And how could a party fail in a house like that? Such cool toys, from the appliances to the vending to the Seeburg jukeboxes.

Oh, did someone say 'Seeburg?' Mike has some very desirable and interesting machines there. The 1959 model 222 was the world's first Stereo Jukebox -- and Seeburg did everything they could to call attention to that.

The 1962 DS160 (complete with the original 'Ear Speakers') was Seeburg's last vinyl-playing machine of that era with a visible mechanism.

And finally, a true Seeburg SMC2. Part way through the production run, Seeburg finally went broke and got sold to Stern Amusements. The later-production SMC2s had orange columns rather than brown. I think that the Seeburgs were more attractive than the 'SternBurgs.'

Sorry for the mini-lecture, but everyone brings something to the discussion, I hope.

And it should go without saying, but the pup is adorable! I hope he got LOTS of scritches.

Seeburg's

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the compliments. My 222 was my first collectible purchase back in 1991. I mechanically/electronically restored it. The cosmetics are original so far. It never fails to play. The DS was a parts machine I brought back to life. The SMC 2 is one of a few, and the only true Seeburg unit I have ever seen. On these, the disco lights only come on when the mechanism is scanning/playing. The Sternburgs have the lights on at all times. I also installed a real mirrored disco ball rather than the small chrome one it came with, to enhance the effect.

Frida, the dog, had lots of left overs on wash-in night.

If you ever get out this way, you are more than welcome to stop by.

Mike
