WasherLover was so kind to open his home and invite me to his incredible retro spanish style ranch here in Northern Calif.   I brought my camera but got so absorbed in the experience I only wish I'd taken more pics.

Meticulously restored and carefully updated the house is spotless and a thrilling and comfortable step back to 1970s charm. Period furniture, a working intercom system, record player console stereo, and yes a matching harvest gold Maytag 806 in the laundry room.  Complete with tub light, lighted console, and matching electronic dryer.

The tour continued into the spacious garage with truly special and rare appliance mix:

A pink Maytag set with sudsaver.  I had never seen pink in person.

A Norge timeline washer.  We plugged this in for the first time.  We weren't sure if the timer slider is supposed to slide freely.(?)  It does advance when activated.  The motor works but it appears the belt is off.

A green Frigidaire washer.  Again I had never seen Sherwood green in person so this was awesome.

A 1985 KM Lady K set in almond.  Loving that triple dispenser.

Every appliance collectors dream, Todd has a separate spacious guest house/hobby room with it's own 2 car garage in the back yard.  The tour revealed a plethora of treasures.

Almost complete this guest house will have a retro 1950s kitchen.  Already the appliances work and that stove is really built solid.  It even has a deep well in the back left corner.

This mid 70s Kenmore has a unique detergent dispenser that has 2 pieces.

I had an electronic 1980 Kenmore washer once that had the triple dispensers laid out like this under the lid.

The washer I had was missing the plastic detergent cup that hangs off the plastic triangle in the rear corner.

It was great to see how it actually works as I knew the triangle piece was part of the dispenser but clearly it alone doesn't reveal much.

1969 GE washer from Reno

Genuine Filter-flo. Loving those toggles.

The first washer I ever got back around 1981 was similar only it was avocado, had the sudsaver switch, and had a lighted dial.

It's interesting that the lid instructions tell how to use the sudsaver.

Thanks again Todd for having me. Your place is incredible and awesome.

You know a person is a dedicated washer collector when all their washers have by-passed lid switches. lol

What an impressive collection you have Todd! And thanks Bradford for taking all the photos and posting them with good explanations. The Norge Timeline is just like the one my Aunt Louise owned. We had a Hamilton TL with a similar time line switch, I believe that Hamilton was made by Norge. The first dryer that we had was a Norge Timeline that we got in 1955.

What a treat to see this collection. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Warges

The 2nd garage, those Norge-built Ward's machines. Would love to have a set of those...if I had room for them that is!
