My FL on Concrete Slabs

My FL is placed on the main wood floor above basement.

In order to strength the floor, 4 pieces of 12"X12"2.5" concrets slabs, each weighs about 22 lbs, are used to place under the FL.

The FL has been working satisfactory even without the slabs.
Adding slags have further improvement.

This improvement only costs about CAD 10.

That really helps? My machine is on the wood floor in my kitchen and when I went to the Bosch from the ASKO, I noticed a huge difference. The ASKO machine is really vibration free, but the Bosch shakes sometimes and you can really feel it.

Total weight about 90 lbs, or about 2/3 of a cubic foot of concrete (based on standard weight of 150 lbs. per cubic foot).

The only thing I'd be concerned about is this: Each of those pieces is independent of the others. If the machine was vibrating over a long enough period of time, it might work one of the slabs out from under the foot it was supporting, and then things would get *really * dramatic.

So it's a good idea to check the placement of those slabs from time to time to be sure they're not moving around, and also not cracking under the load (which can produce the same result).

Rubber floor mats of the type sold at tractor supply places have also been used to good effect.

Concrete slabs distribute the weight of the washer over a larger area (about 144 sq in X 4) against the small footings (about 2 sq in X 4) on the wood floor.
The surfaces of the slab are rough so it wouldn't move on the floor surface.
The rough surfaces also provide an non-slip surfaces for the washer rubber footings.

Seems that rubber floor mats provide a complete different school of thought against vibration and noise. They may provide vibration isolation but not distribute the weight over a large area.

What is the thickness of the rubber floor mat and the size?
Have you or anyone else tried the rubber floor mats?
