Here are some photos of my 3314L Hoovermatic I recently got.

I have changed the three belts, changed the broken timer knob and have today got a fill hose to fit. I also changed the old plug that was a bodge with Insulation tape to a nice smart ORANGE MK 13 Amp plug As seen in this picture.

The filling arm was removed to check the metal tube underneath and I did not put it back for the photo shoot. The EMPTY TUB knob also needs the silver insert fixinf properly as it comes off.

I welcome any comments about my machine.

Beautiful

Nice machine, Wight rabbit. VERY reminiscent to our model 0632 (aka rinse-o-matic) outta here in Canada. I had the 632 (now sold recently) and, yes, both models from Canada and UK have that ''splendid, shiny, killer chrome look, mirror-effect wash tub! Lids, spinner, dark gray gasket and even the 3 knobs just look the same in both 3314/0632 (back panel is different though). Hope that you will enjoy working (or is it ''playing'') with this unit as I have with mine's.

Nice machine....love the shiny chrome.....

but on this model, with the auto-rinse, and I see where your spout goes in the spinner side, but where is the port for the hose from the sink located at?...or how does this spout work?

these connections puzzle me for this one...

Missing.... :(

The Auto rinse spout is missing so you need to find one of those as well as the fill hose- could be a quest and a half.........

Filler Port

Martin

The simple answer is that this model does not have a filler port, there was a permanently attached hose which entered the machine alongside the drain hose, if you look up at the second picture above showing the rear of the machine you may see (and from the angle of the photos its not entirely clear) that the entry hole and retaining clip are somewhat larger than they need to be. The filler hose was made of the same type of tubing as the drain hose. This was the only UK model to use this arrangement of hose, although I expect that the Canadian Rinse-O-Matic (see link - scroll down) would have used a similar arrangement.

You SOLD your Hoover 0632?
Why???
I thought you loved that little machine.
Even if you like the colour of mine more ;)

Thanks for using my pics and link!
I'm flattered.
I should let you know however, that those pics are now copyrighted and not available for redistribution.
HA HA HA HA HA
:)

Couldn't resist.

Yogitunes.............

vacbear58 described it perfectly.
This machine has an INTERNAL hose system.
You attatch the hose to the faucet and it runs parallel to the drain hose.
It sends the water to the rinse spout in the spinner and that is used to fill the wash tub as well as the auto-rinse feature in the spinner.
I completely prefer this system as there are no exposed hoses to get in the way nor does one have to yank the hose out of the rinse spout to fill the wash tub just to stick it back in for the next rinse.
I'm hoping to have my Hoover up and running by March as I need to order parts for it and that won't happen until sometime in Feb. as I have other machines to collect before they are gone for good.
All in all, this model of Hoover is by far the most impressive I have ever seen. I love the shiny stainless steel wash tub and especially that it has the recirculating lint filtration system-something that seems very rare on these machines.
And I can't wait until it's up and running.

thanks for the replies.......

like I always say, if you can't find the original parts, think outside the box, and improvise......theres always a way to rig another way to get this thing going again....

would love to see a video in action when you get it complete....

Twin Tubs.

Hi. I love the 3314L's! I want one, there was one locally near me, is this the one? I love the orange plug on it, love it! I only have 1 twin tub (alongside lots of other washers and dryers), that is a Hotpoint Supermatic Plus 9404. I have had her for under a year now, she needed a spinner micro switch replacing for the spinner, then she was working fine... until September. The wash pump only dribbles, not a big, normal flow :( Need to fix her! But I have 3 other broken washers :( It gives me a headache! A big headache! Here are a few shots of the 9404.

Here is a shot of it's innards and mechanism, looks very complicated and I don't look forward to fixing her! But then when she is fixed, I'll be happy! i haven't had a chance to take the back plate off of my 9605, I want to compare this to that. Spinner in this one is a 3100 RPM speed. Gets things nice and dry :) Sadly it's not a 9414 that will do a automatic rinse thing, but you can't have everything in life :( I know that too well :(

Here are the insides of my machine.....

That's all from me.

Chris.

forgive me

replying to Chris on this thread, for the pump problem in the other thread as the ubove photo helps.

Hi Chris, as a suggestion, can you see the sump hose that goes from the bottom of the washtub to the pump, directly under the tub below where the pipe branches off to the pump is a spring clamp, with a pair of grips or larger pliers squeeze and remove from the sump, this will enable you to withdraw a tubular filter, and I would suspect this is blocked up, then reassemble and test.

The other thing to check whilst your inside the machine to check the pump isnt seizing up, ie stiff to turn, but I suggest it's more likely the filter is blocked

hope that helps

mathew

Further to your helpful advice Mathew may I add.....

Hello Chris have you tipped this machine or moved it lately?
I did move mine and the pump drive wheel slipped above the belt thus it was very slow so its worth checking that its running true on the belt.
Am sure one way or another you will get it going properly just keep plodding on :o)

0632

Dear twintubber and barcoboy,

Its not without regrets, mind you, that I had to let go that babe. In fact, I had a substantial offer for the 0632 from a friend of mine, located in my area, as he agreed also to buy from me an old Hoover Celebrity vacuum. The main reason why, I have to ''get rid'' of those, is a serious lack of space in my appartment. I have one washer inside my locker in the basement (heated, not a damp place) and...four in my appartment (plus six different models of vacs)!! Not still decided about it but, barcoboy, it is ''possible'' --although not sure yet-- that I sell my latest Hoov model 0610. I know you might be interested, perhaps. A ''sure'' thing now is for sale soon will be my little Baycrest twinnie (quite reminiscent to a Hoov mod 0517). I plan to sell the Baycrest by the next month on kijiji (BTW, within a few weeks I should post on this forum some pictures of the latter and of all my other Hoover washers). Stay tuned.
