My Hoover groover finally died!

Well its true to say that my great Groover Washer dryer is now at last put to rest!

After just over 5 years of hard slog, it has been retired to the land fill!

The belt snapped, then 3 days later after a new belt was fitted the pump gave up...

I will miss my beloved hoover dearly!

Here it is on death day in the back garden!

So.... It got replaced with this!

It's a Hotpoint Wt761, 7kg capacity, and a 1600 spin :-D

Sorry to hear the loss of your Hoover, How long have you had it for? I'm sure it could be repaired to give it a 2nd chance.

But I do like your new Hotpoint! Hope it gives you many years of service.

I wonder if there'll be any videos of it working.

Personally id have spent £30 on a pump for the Hoover- still I guess 5 yrs isnt bad!

Congrats on the new machine. I'm sure you are well impressed with the higher spin speed on the newbie, I wouldn't be without the 1600rpm on the Miele now I've had time to adjust to it, it might mean a bit more time spent ironing in some instances, but for convenience I don't think it can be argued with when you have vast amounts of laundry like I know you have!

I wish you well with it, my auntie has recently purchased the same model as yours but with the 1400rpm spin speed and so far so good following her Ariston disaster from Curry's which led to eight call outs in six months! Lets hope the shortcomings that led to the disposal of my own first generation Hotpoint-Merloni collaboration (the WF430) from 2005 have been ironed out. The quality seems to have definitely improved and the induction motors seem to be smooth as silk.

Must catch up soon and we shall have a good chat about it!

P.S Your new washer combined with Lavamat_Jon's hotpoint dryer would make quite a nice matching pair even though theyre not the identical matched models.
