Hi all,
My first delivery of 2011 was a late birthday surprise, a June 1970 Hoover 3102E single tub and a 1975 circa Hotpoint 1018 spin dryer. The latter the more interesting. Not much cleaning has to be done which is nice but the mechanical state is unknown to me but I assume everything is normal. Two things to be done are replacing the rubber drain hose with hopefully a new rubber one and getting a new bellow clamp aswell as replacing the flex. I haven't tested with water yet. The clutch seems to be work smooth as are the brakes though the interlock is a little dodgey at times. One thing I notice is that the spin can and mounts tilt slightly during operation at full speed. It doesn't rock on the floor either so I assume this movement is with high speed. Can you tell if it sounds healthy?
