Two Mixers...

A Sunbeam model 10 that works like new, and a Westinghouse that looked beautiful but had a stripped gear, I used a parts machine and switched the gears and now it works great too.

Great finds.. I have the General Mills sandwich iron but only the grill plates, not the waffle plates or the brochure. It's how I found it.. at the time I didn't know there might have been waffle plates for it.

Heated it

Set on Medium, when the light went out, brushed the grids with Wesson Oil, closed it and let it cycle on and off for 10 minutes, then unplugged it opened it and let it cool, it stuck slightly the first waffle so i sprayed it with Pam the next time, then it worked great.

My Mother's Old GE Waffle Iron

That she received as a wedding gift in 1948 was a good one. The first waffle always stuck, but then after that smooth sailing. It shocked the s_ _ t out of me once so it was retired to the shelf for display. That was a pretty good baker. It was in use for about 45 years. We then got an Oster which turned out to be a good one also. I always wanted one like the one in this post with the griddle.

Did you try the sour milk waffle recipe I had posted earlier in a different thread?  We just had them Thursday w/ kielbasa for lunch.
