First of all, thank you to everyone for your help and advice RE: my washer. As some of you might know, I've been looking to buy a washer of my own to replace that one that came with my apartment (Beko). We have the space to store the Beko and so I decided to get another one. After many conversations and decisions, I decided to get a brand new machine and went with the Miele Prestige Plus 6 (see link). It's being delivered on Saturday so I'll get some snaps up for you all then but in the meantime, here is the machine we're getting.

best wishes,
Chris

YAY! lol

I have always thought Beko didnt last long, or if they did, they would have ridiculous cycle times or something. I think the ecocare range and a few others were the only good machines Beko ever made.

Beko EcoCare 1000rpm washer:

I've never seen an EcoCare in action. I saw one in a friends house once but it wasn't on. My apartment came with a Beko WMA510, which is the slightly older version of the WM5100 (see link). It's not a bad washer, but it really annoys the hell out of me. It's very loud and vibrates a hell of a lot. And the wash cycles either take 30mins (not long enough IMO) or 2hr30mins (too long). So I either end up with naff performance or I have to spend all day doing my washing. The Miele has slightly more reasonable wash times, a larger load size and is much quieter. Also, it has free 5 year parts & labour with it which is good. I'll post some piccies as soon as I get it.

congrats Chris, the W3205 is a nice machine !

649 £ meaning 763.5 € are a very good deal for such a machine. It's the price of some AEGs ... but you buy Miele quality.

thanks Zac, now I know that those KENNEX appliances on sale @ iperCOOP are rebadged BEKO

Good choice Chris.

Beats the Beko hands down, well done.

(HooverKeymatic: "Beko EcoCare, good machine!",
the bottom counterweight bolt always brakes off the machine, rendering the machine beyond economical repair, terrible design!)

In terms of build quality and design, this machine REALLY reminds me of an older machine - maybe an old Hoover. It sounds so well built and so powerful (again, like an older machine) especially when it's spinning. The performance is outstanding and it's SO quiet. I am a very happy bunny :)

happy

It so nice to hear that you are happy with your machine, from my limited experience of Miele machines they are indeed well built and designed

So i will join the others in congratulating you on your purchase.
Gary

Many thanks indeed everyone! I am incredibly pleased with it and also to have caught up with all my washing. My favorite cycles so far are Minimum Iron 30 & 40 short (1 hr 09 mins), Cottons 60 (1 hr 38 mins) and Express 40 (39 mins). I've been using Bold liquitabs (Lavender & Chamomile), but ran out half way through and switched to Surf powder. Here are my washing patterns, if anyone is interested:

Towels, bath mats and bedding - 60 degree cottons cycle
general clothes (ie. jeans. t-shirts, hoodies, underwear) - 40 minimum iron short
Pastel coloured shirts (for the office) - 30 minimum iron short
Delicate v-neck jumpers (again, for the office) - 30 dedicates

all the best,
Chris

oh cool! You've got your miele. I hope you enjoy laundry more than ever now! :D

I too love the programmes on miele's, and the new ones even have 20 mins wash etc, stain and much much more.

^thanks Eby! I'll talk to you more about it on MSN :). I do love the variation in programs. I am very tempted to wash my flatmate's bedding on a 95 degree 3 hour soak - I can't remember the last time he washed it. He's been banned from washing now I have my new machine though lol.

LoL- you reminded me about the soak on miele's, i'd love that! Guess how i soak, put it on rinse and let it fill 1/3 up then let it tumble and turn it off for about 6 hours but in the time like evry hour or so ill let it tumble for a minute or so in the dyson LoL

Kinda manual soak coz if its big items, buckets not enough. LoL

chat to u on msn.
