Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

uh-oh, this don't look so good.
Somebody just got cold-busted!

Yay Louis, yay Austin!

Did we forget to mention that the average American machine would NEVER fit through a bathroom door to get it in, in the first place.

A bathroom door here is 24 inches wide (60cm) And I'm guessing that the size there is similar.. Louis, speak!

This MAY explain why we practically NEVER see large/full-size/ washing machienes in bahrooms here (can I safely say never?)

Our old Top-load style machines are 27 by 27 inches square generally (which is about 68cm.) Newer Frolt-load styles tend to have bigger cabinets.

So to recapitulate... 60cm wide door; 68cm wide machine in its narrowest dmension.... HOW?

So how would YOU be able to get an American machine into YOUR bathroom?

KY jelly anyone? Even that won't help.

In a trailer home my brother lived in while attending college-the washer was in the bathroom-was a Frigidiare.Had to replace the timer in it.Now it has me wondering if that machine was "trapped" in its bathroom-you would have to remove the door and frame to get it out and get another in.The washer was beside the sink.I think in some other trailer homes--the washer was in a bathroom.the home just had the washer-later my brother put a dryer in an entrance Vesibule he added to the trailer.

Steve,

Europe (except for the UK perhaps) has wider doors in bathrooms. I measured mine and it is 75cm. In newer houses they are even 80cm I think.

Austin,

Actually I don't have a smashing good time doing this. I hate it when these things happen. The reason I posted those links is to prove that mr Fredriksam is not only using other people's pictures but also telling stories that aren't true. That isn't his friend with that overfoaming washer. And the Philips wasn't in Scotland. So there is no reason to believe he has the washers he claims he has until he has proved otherwise. I'm not going to search for more pictures, I think I made my point clear.

Mr Fredriksam,

I hope you got the point now. If I were you I wouldn't be whining for some Keymatic diagrams but clear my reputation here by proving to us that you have the machines you say you have. Until then I would make myself scarce on this website.

Louis

are you serious about bathroom doors being 60 cm wide? (=600mm)

Here in Aus all doors in new homes are standard size of 820 mm wide, 870 is the next standard size up and is common for front doors. In my new house the toilet and bathroom doors are 770mm which is unusually narrow and I had to get the doors specially made up. My kitchen pantry doorway is 620mm, I will have to get it made specially too.

Chris.

I think he may have the message now....

... thats all I have to say, the guy is either rhino-skinned or he is feeling pretty degraded right now. Can we all move on?
