the 1613 has the microhole drum, it's the BOL machine. I think the 1614 has the honeycomb drum.

Aw thanks, I love it's simplicity programme wise, ie: it doesn't have programmes that I would never use. The only gripe's I have is I can't add an extra rinse onto the "automatic" programme unless I select "no spin" and the "express wash" has a normal action wash for 10 mins.....I would prefer intense wash action for 15 mins.

The latest W5 series are selling well with the new 7kg drum, but I oh so wish they would put the 7kg in the W1756...!!! the door alone looks like it should have the 7kg drum, BUT now we do have the chrome door!!!

I would say I use the "cottons" prog the most, see post about towels, I go through a lot!!!
Use the "automatic" programme for small loads and "minimum iron" for most of our clothes.
Have used the "woolens" was for handwash things and its very effective.
Do you think the 7 kg drum would be much bigger or do you think they have just upped the water levels? The drum on mine is pretty big and I can get way more in a cotton wash than I could with our old Hotpoint WD440 which was rated at 6kg.
I was warned when we got this machine that I was not allowed to get bored of it and it would have to be a "keeper"!! Having said that, I can't ever seen me getting bored or fed up with this machine........plus I have the option of updates for it as well.
Am off just now......it's Torchwood time!!!

Hi- Washer looks great, I have to say the Miele's without the chrome doors have grown on me compared to when they first came out!
Nice to see what the Microhole drum looks like close up too, not seen a proper picture of one until now.
Great to hear another Miele owner still loving their machine, I just cant fault mine, some may even say im a bit obsessed with it, but hey they are special machines
! Mine is a year old on the 19th, time really has flown by and I still love it more and more everytime I use it

Left if for pre-wash and or pre-soak (if an offered option)
Right is main wash detergent
Front dispenser(with lid) is for fabric conditioner, dispensed during the final rinse.

Launderess, that's true in "last century" mieles ... in the last 10 years miele has swapped prewash on right and main wash on left.
My mother who was used with the "old style" W780, took a while to remember that in the W844 it was the contrary, despite of the "I" and "II" prints ....... finally she uses both machines with no mistakes)
Latest machines (W3000-4000-5000-6000) even have the FS dispenser no more in the front but on the left side

In a shared house during work in summertime I had to rinse the drawer of a Candy Aquamatic before each load. A girl was used to put tablets in EACH compartment ... maybe she enjoied sudsy laundry ???

Thanks guys for all the comments. Richard, it sounds like me and you are fully paid up members of the Miele fan club!! I wish I'd got one years ago, rather than buying a string of average ( ish ) and some rubbish machines.
Favorit, my sister recently bought some "wool wash" from Lidl, she thought it was fabric softener, so she too had very soapy washing!!

Stability of Mieles on suspended wooden floors.
How well do they cope on wooden floors?
My parents have a Bosch which is fine on solid floors, but was dreadful on the previous house's chipboard floor panels. It leapt about like a 'Jack-in-the-box'. We had to bolt it to the floor.

We have chipboard floors, the Miele is steady as a rock.

Paul,I remember those times when Henkel came out with the "green" ATLAS series : it was a nightmare, all the bottles were almost identical.... my mother sometimes washed with softener and rinsed with detergent)
For our sake
-here Calgonit is called Finish
-we have soft water, so don't need Calgon
Otherwise I had the dishwasher done with Calgon tabs and towels with a sparkling 3 in 1 scent ;-))

3 Mini (your Express)
4 Coloured/Boilwash
5 Delicates (your Synthetics)

My "Automatic" cycle does a cool down if 40 deg is selected and the machine thinks it is a mainly synthetic load.

My Miele
As most of you probably know, we got the W3922WPS almost a year ago, a year ago on the 19th infact. It truly does amaze me, the build quality, the wash, rinse and spinning results, just seems flawless to me, in comparision to many other machines I've had, makes for a very smooth running machine 
I really couldnt be happier!
I think so far, my favourite program is Minimum Iron, alot of my washing goes on that at usually either 40*c or 60*c, seems to be a very good cycle which gives some impressive washing and rinsing results, and actually does what it says - leaves stuff really crease free, esspecially if you hang stuff up to dry afterwards, t-shirts and the like dont seem to need ironing, the spins just the right length to remove alot of water, but not too long to set creases in
Even my mum really likes the machine now, and believe you me, after the luck ( or luck we havent had) with washers in the past few years, it takes some serious convincing as she was skeptical, was is fair really
