Thank You to all who offered advice and help while I was on my way to obtaining my Monitor Top Refrigerator. Many thanks to Mike Arnold at www.monitortop.com for all of his help as well. Attached is a picture of it.
From what I can tell it is a 1935. It's serial tag reads... 4120681. I got the Maytag from Mike Arnold and this stove is from my Gram....an untouched original
Beautiful Monitor Top! It looks MINT!! And the wringer and the Hotpoint range are wonderful also!
Someone offered me a Monitor Top for free about a week ago, but I had to turn it down. Just don't have the time for it, or the space for it right now. >:
It took some clean up, but it turned out really nice. I have developed quite an interest in vintage appliances thanks to Mike Arnold and this web site. The stove in the last post was my first acquisition from my Gram...she was so happy that I wanted it and now I have so many things, I have lost count. I am restoring a set of Maytag 806's right now and am picking up another Maytag Wringer Friday.
Yeah...the Bosch is out of "era" for the kitchen design, but I wanted an awesome dishwasher and my Bosch it just that. I have a Bosch Axxis pair and Siemens Ultra Sense pair for laundry and I like them equally as much...all are super quiet, efficient, and do the job very well. I only use the wringer every now and then when I am feeling nostalgic. The stove and refrigerator are used daily.
I will have to take pics of those tomorrow. The washer is apart and I haven't started the dryer yet. My sister's God Mother had a harvest gold set when I was a kid and I always lusted after them with their lighted control panels and all of the buttons on the washer but only a dial on the dryer...lol
