My new daily driver, well it's NEW to me

What a great washer to get for your daily driver. I bought one of these in '98 and still have it and use it for those things that just wash better in a front loader. You can't go wrong with one of these as they seem very well built. Try not to oversuds and you shouldn't have any problems with the rear bearing going bad (or so I've been told). Congratulations to you on your new baby and a big hand to Steve 1-18 for getting it to you.

OH great washer Gurus, do we get the tumble fill to work on all cycles and intial settings?

The water level is easy. Open the top and tighten the screw on the pressure switch (the one coated in red loctite). It will fill almost to the window giving a wetter, splashier wash.

To get it to tumble/fill, I don't know exactly how to do it but you have to jump a connection on the motor control board to the timer (or something like that). Or use "Heavy wash" cycle.

Notice: Both methods could possibly break the machine or void the warrenty. I did the water level trick with no problem.

Congratulations Bob...it certainly looks MINT! And darnit, I completely forgot about you looking for a knob for the water level control Steve added. I have a silver knob taken from a Westinghouse dryer that would fit on there.

The knob and water level control weren't installed, steve forgot to get one from Austin and we didn't find one on our travels either to cannibalize.

The Bob Load

Bob,
I have heard reference to the urban legend "Bob" load since coming to the sight. I rememeber a picture of a sweater with the side shredded out by the agitator.
How did it all begin? Cheap, hates to do laundry, eco savior, trying to test the limits of endurance, low water pressure, a month's laundry and only one cup soap? What made you start and what feeds the continium?

psst, I would like to know as well. I have only witnessed these disgustingly overfilled machines before.

It would seem to reason, that since we like washers etc. so much, that we would cut a/an (overload(Bob load)full load into two (2) loads and have twice the fun?????????????????????? Am I missing something? Wouldn't two loads be more fun than one?

I am all for filling my machine to its utmost capacity but I draw the line at stuffing sooo full thust for the sake of it. By craming it full you loose all the majic of watching the tumbling action as it does not go anywhere. I like to see a half load of whites splashing around as this is far more pleasent viewing rather than a stuffed full machine that does nothing.
