Hi Westy- I was surprised at how well the base cleaned up. It really does look like new. There are imperfections on the cabinet paint but I'll wait on repainting as it's not that bad.
Yes the tub brake actually works. My old one used to keep spinning for several minutes when you lifted the lid, but this one does what it's supposed to and brings the tub to a stop. It even made a funny groan once as it stopped last night.
Ah, the Mustang. It is a 1972 coupe. 302 engine, 2 bbl carb, cruise-o-matic transmission, power front disc brakes, power steering, and (tada) factory air conditioning. I have completely restored this from the wreck it was when I bought it in 96. I have taken it to car shows and have had a lot of fun with it. It's a great car. Thanks for asking.
