I've been lightly bugging the other half that we should sell everything here, the house, 2 businesses and the office condo and move back east and take an early retirement. Real estate here is very high so we could do it easily I figure. So in the meantime I've been perusing the MLS website for sale homes in the southern Ontario region, London, Sarnia and rural, when I happened upon this house in London. I went to college in London and had an apartment in an old victorian house only a few blocks from this house. The whole neighborhood is like a little village of gorgeous Victorian homes and more huge tree's than is fair. Anyways, doesn't this house look like a mini Morning Glory Circle. When I was poor and in college living there I always used to imagine owning one of those houses

That's a nice looking house. It's got lots of character both inside and out! The mature landscaping really gives the place a nice touch too. Looks very well maintained, hope there's no secret little suprises it's holding. It appears to be a mirror of the Bewitched Morning Glory Circle home Samantha lived in. Hope you enjoy it! New homes are always fun because it's neat starting with a clean slate to decorate and personalize!

Well unfortunately it remains a dream until I can convince the other one if possible..

Steve.what do you mean central air in Canada, it's as far south as Detroit and gets mighty hot and humid in summer. That's the only thing negative about it in my mind.. I hate sweating

As far south as Detroit! lol I guess that could be considered warm at times, lol

All joking aside, that house is beautiful. If you can convince the other to go for it, I'm sure everyone will be very happy with that house.

Pete, What a gorgeous home. And the price is also great. I cannot imagine what a home like this would go for in the States in New Jersey. Good Luck.

Beautiful, just be careful of buying a place with lots of stairs. As joints age, stairs can be a problem, for both safety and painful joints. If there is room for an elevator or an electric lift on the stairs, great.

Looks like a wonderful house Petek. I lived in Guelph Ontario for 27 years before moving out west. I know the area you're looking at quite well. Persue your dream!

And yes it does get very hot there in the summer - 90's plus with just about 100% humidity. Where I live now in B.C. we actually get above 100F but no humidity - makes a big difference.

P.S. Check out the website 1164morningglorycircle. Neat stuff.

House prices are amazing aren't they. That house would sell in Calgary in a similar neighborhood close to downtown(although there arent any here)for at least $500,000 if not more these days. Hot spots like Vancouver you'd be even much higher if only for the price of the land they'd knock it down and put something new up in the million dollar mark.

That house would easily fetch 1 million in Vancouver and probably more in Toronto. Prices have gone crazy in B.C. because there's no product and high demand. I think with the olympics coming in 2010 it's only going to get worse. In Kamloops it now takes upwards of 20 weeks to get a new roof and most of the trades are booked at least a year out.

I like the indoor gas grill next to the flair.

Does anyone know the brand-name of that grill? I have seen a similar set-up in Greenwich, CT (read: moneyed area).

Strange that in Connecticut (before smooth-tops vitro/ceran *wink*) someone would use an electric stove when gas is avaialable three feet (1 meter) away. The northeast USA as a rule uses gas when available.
