Oh... My... GAWD!!! I LOVE THIS WASHER!!!! So far, it seems to behave just like any European washer with full speed spins after the wash and between the rinses! Here are some pluses:
-When turned on, it plays a little tune, I know LG is well known for this, but, it's just so cute!
-Once the cycle is started, it immediately does a spin burst to sense the load and calculate how long the cycle will take. I've had it decided the cycle will take 40 minutes, and I have it decide the cycle will take an hour and 40 minutes!
-I've heard many complaints about LGs taking forever to balance for the spin? This is sooooo not true! It takes less than 2 minutes to balance and then it's off!
-It can be paused at any point in the cycle and the door opened, on top of that, it doesn't mess around with unlocking the door! Press play/pause and within seconds you hear that little "snap!"
-Even without the extra rinse selected, it still managed to get my towels softer than my 1951 double deep rinse Unimatic can!
-After draining from every bath, it pours some fresh water into the outer drum to flush away the old water from the sump! While it's not a solid tub top loader that can't mix water from the outer tub sump and the inner tub, it certainly does a good job of making up for that!
-Something I've never seen any other front load or top load washer do is it will spin in either direction! It tumbles one way then accelerates to distribution speed and if it likes it, it just ramp up, if it doesn't, it'll stop and try going the other way!
-The spin is just barely louder than Robert's Super Unimatic at full speed! This machine spins at 1,050 RPM for a full 10 minutes for the final spin! Seriously, you could whisper over the damn thing!
-The drum... It's just so damn PRETTY!!!
-And of course, it plays that adorable little tune when it finishes!!
Now for some cons:
-The pump... Oh, the pump... It's pretty loud when it first starts up! While it's running and pumping, it's not very loud, still louder than the machine at full speed spin, but still not very loud. But when it starts up! GEEZE! Loudest part of the machine! My roommate has decided that it sounds like the machine is "grunting" when the pump comes on!
-The fill... It doesn't pour any water over the window and so it gets foggy and loose hair tends to end up stuck to the window! (One of my pet peeves!)
-The "hot" wash... The machine claims that it's 120 degrees F... It's not even that! MAYBE 115, if you run the machine just past it water line-wise to get the water hot! Otherwise, it's about 110 or even 105 degrees F.
-The options... It has "Stain Cycle" which adds wash time and an extra rinse, "Extra Rinse" which obviously, adds a rinse, and "Pre-Wash" which adds a prewash of course... These are all great options to have, but it will only let you use one at a time!
Overall, I must say, I am much more impressed with this machine that I thought I was going to be! I would definitely buy this machine again and I will be recommending it to others!
