I picked up this machine today for 50 bucks! It's all original with no touch-ups. As soon as I bypass the wringer safety actuator, it'll be ready to go.

Now for the difficult part:

...I've had a hard time trying to find the manufacture date for my machine. The Maytag club website was confusing. I also contacted Whirlpool, who had no information for me.

My machine had a foot activated actuator for the wringer, which I bypassed. Does anyone know when Maytag started adding the foot pedal for the wringer? I also pulled off the agitator and found a small "73" stamped on the bottom of the agitator. Could this mean 1973?
