Its really in

Pretty good shape, the heat Minder and Speed Heat have been changed, but thats a good thing in my book, both ovens bake great, they were both off temp but I calibrated them, the clock runs but dosent keep accurate time...I got some kind of glare on that last picture...the back splash is all glass and is perfect, really a pretty old stove, I had forgotten just how good Radiantubes were.

Hans, it's beautiful!

You sly fox, you, keeping this quiet until you were up and running! What a great stove, probably my favorite year of this design, it has the blue faced clock and dials... and now we will all look forward to hear about your baking success with it!

Three-Hour Tour?

Can we get a detailed tour of her control panel? Lots a buttons and do-hickies going on there...

Malcolm

that is what good friends do

Hans has been a really good friend for more yrs than Id like to admit i got the old girl just for parts for my 58 but he liked it so its in a better place than my garage

That's one classy range. Makes me wanna go electric. Frigidaire made some great ranges, that's for sure. Enjoy it with good health and good fortune.

Re Norge..

Shes in storage for now, this old CI bakes beautifully, although like every pull and clean ive ever encountered it gets hot on the top edge above the large oven, When they changed the speed heat the dum dumms took out the pointer mechanism so you have to go by knob position, ill fix that if I can find a pointer, the 2 wires from the meat tender were disconnected, ive got to investigate why...I really need the Tech Talk for it, I am not much of a washer mechanic, but I can fix a stove!LOL

"Did I mention it weighs 400 pounds".   That is a big plus.  No tin anchor to bolt to the wall to avoid a tipover with a big turkey or unsupervised child.  My mother never had to tell us not to climb on the oven door.  I guess things have changed :-)

Norgeway,  your new Frigidaire is a beautiful stove.  I wish you the best and hope you enjoy it!  Arthur

That's a great find, Hans!  It looks to be in great condition, and as expected, clean as a whistle.

The speed-heat on the 59 I had was OK but the Heat Minder element and control had been replaced.  Although the markings on the panel and the actual selections didn't line up, I didn't mind it so much - just another infinite element.

I think I recall reading that in '60 they made some improvements to the Pull-N-Clean oven (right oven) and it was better controlled and vented so the front/top of the range above the door didn't get blazing hot like it did on the 59.  Still, the baking was excellent all around and not a bad place to proof bread and rolls while the oven was on.
